Something magical happens when you’re near the ocean. It calms you and exhilarates at the same time. Stone Harbor, with its stunning, natural beauty, has magnificent beaches that will please every beach lover. Bask in the sun, nap in the shade, boogie board with the kids or run along the surf. The possibilities are endless. The calmer bay waters are a playground for kayakers, paddle boarders, boaters and anglers. And there’s nothing more relaxing than a float in the bay! STONE HARBOR POINT Located on the southern tip of Stone Harbor, you’ll find a virtually deserted pristine stretch of beach with sandbars, salt marshes and mud flats. Beginning at 122nd Street with plenty of free parking and restrooms, the Point is a tidal estuary where the ocean meets the bay with an ever-changing landscape of shifting sands alive with birds and nature. It is a designated conservation area and because of this, its uses are limited. Please stay out of areas protected for bird-nesting species. The Point is a place to enjoy walking, fishing, beach combing and bird watching. STONE HARBOR PUBLIC MARINA The Stone Harbor Marina has a pubic boat ramp, kayak racks, a public fishing, crabbing, and swimming pier, restrooms, outside shower, a pump-out waste station, and plenty of free parking. Ramp fees apply. Contact the Recreation Department for more information 368-1210 or the Borough in the off season 609.368.5102. Located on 81st Street. STONE HARBOR BIRD SANCTUARY A National Natural Landmark since 1965, our bird sanctu- ary is comprised of 21 acres of maritime forest, wetlands, a spring-fed fresh water pond and meadow system. The pre- serve swarms with birds and butterflies and offers a self guided informational walking tour. Docent lead walks are also made available each weekend in the summer. Lo- cated on 114th Street. You’re here because the seashore calls you. Breathe deep and smell the fresh salt air. The moment your feet touch the sand you are ten years old again and looking forward to spending the whole day in the surf…now it’s your kids and grandchildren who live the dream because you trusted us with one of the most important decisions of your life. Can you replace hearing the roar of the ocean from your open bedroom window on a balmy summer night? Perhaps the laughter of children mixed with the gull’s cry on a steamy summer afternoon? You alone have made your memories here and we are proud that we were a part of that and hope to help others build their own special memories for many years to come. And yes, times have changed and maybe you are enjoying the slow lull of the waves as you read your latest downloaded book or perhaps you’re working from your beach chair or boat because you can do it just as well here, maybe even better. With family members close by and relaxing moments to think you find you’re even more creative and productive with a renewed sense that you made the right decision and put your faith in us to make your choice a reality. WE GET IT. Whether you are busy or taking it slow, whether you own or rent your home here, we believe in the value of time well spent at the shore. 24
Although we’ve been here for over 60 years we start fresh every day. Whether long time or new, our clients and customers are never taken for granted. Managing desires is a business we take very seriously and strive to make the process of renting your beach home or second home ownership a reality for our island visitors.
