Job Description
The following vacancy is at Lanark Close Short Breaks Unit which provides short breaks and support
for Adults living in the Borough of Stockton-On-Tees with an identified Learning Disability.

We are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic individual who has experience of
working in a catering environment and who has the ability and knowledge to plan and cook meals
for up to 12 people at any one time.

Your role will be to also support and develop the skills of the people accessing the service in planning
a healthy and varied menu, food shopping and budgeting, involving them in the preparation of
meals, cooking and serving of meals in a homely and welcoming environment which in turn will
enhance their independent living skills and social activities both within the house and also in the
wider community.

The successful person should also be able to demonstrate and deliver person centred, independent
cooking skills to develop, support and enhance the life skills of the people who access Lanark short
breaks service.

You will be joining a very supportive team whose aim is to provide outstanding person centred care
and support to those accessing the service.

It is expected that you will come from a catering background and have experience of cooking meals
for up to 12 people, including planning, ordering, monitoring and recording of expenditure. A
recognised catering qualification would be highly advantageous along with experience of supporting,
mentoring or working with people with learning disabilities. In return we will support you to
undertake regular statutory training and to attain the QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social care,
Adult pathway.

This post requires the person to work a rota of tea and evening shifts, which includes public holidays.

Job Description
Stockton Libraries & Information Service is passionate about providing access to quality books,
information, IT resources, events and activities to residents across the borough.

We currently have a vacancy for a Library Systems Support Assistant, reporting to the Digital Services
Librarian and working within the Digital Services Team. This role is primarily focussed on the library
management system, Capita Talis, the maintenance of the system and extraction of data as required.
Knowledge of the public library environment is essential, as is experience of IT systems and
management databases. You will be expected to provide support to frontline library staff, solving
problems associated with IT systems, as well as supporting day to day services, such as self-service
systems, public PCs, Wifi and project work.

You will also work with our Innovation Station and Imagination Station; spaces that have been
created to provide access to newer digital resources and immersive projection technology. This will
involve delivering workshops and sessions to all ages of the community, using 3D printers, 3D
scanners, laser cutter and a range of other technology. You will support the use and maintenance of
this equipment, including training staff and others.

This post is 18.5 hours per week, working opposite another member of staff in the same role. As the
role covers the whole of the library service you will be required to travel to different library buildings
across Stockton-on-Tees to provide IT support.

We are looking for somebody who has a positive attitude and commitment to delivering a quality
