Welcome Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for your interest in the Goedgedacht Farm as your venue. Located on the mountain slopes of the picturesque Riebeek Valley, only an hour from the metropolis of Cape Town, lays the sanctuary of peace and serenity that is the Goedgedacht Farm. Set in natural surroundings, amidst panoramic olive grove and mountain views, the Goedgedacht Farm provides the perfect setting for a truly magical experience.
Our Venue Get married in an enchanting Cape Dutch building surrounded by rolling landscapes of thriving orchards and vineyards, with a chapel, indoor and outdoor reception venues to choose from, accommodation, extraordinary photographic settings and experienced staff all conveniently placed in one exceptional location. Choose from a collection of venue options; from historic manor houses to purpose-built exterior locations with breathtaking panoramic views. The farm offers multiple accommodation options for the bridal pair as well as for up to 88 of your family and friends. Our services include a full-time wedding & function coordinator, in-house catering, an interfaith pastor as well as a hands-on team to help you plan some of the finer details.

Venue Hire Fee Includes CEREMONY & PRE-DRINKS RECEPTION • The use of the chapel (seats up to 80 guests) • Basic set up of tables (cutlery, crockery, glassware and our own linen) • The use of our outside ceremony areas (weather permitting) and chairs for the reception. o The Dam Lapa (seats up to 40 guests) • Use of The Barn venue and veranda. o Under the Vines in front of the Barn venue (seats up to 120 guests) • Cleaning up of venue after the function and breakdown of Goedgedacht o The Oak Lawn in front of our historic Manor House (seats up to 80 furniture. Venue Info SAFETY AND SECURITY: Goedgedacht is a working farm and children must be supervised at all times. We also request that you not bring your pets. Goedgedacht Trust will not take responsibility for any damages to décor, flowers or any property of service providers. Goedgedacht Trust will take every precaution for the safety of your personal items and equipment, but will not take responsibility for any damage or loss of any item or equipment. Goedgedacht Trust and our staff take no responsibility for any loss or injuries due to negligence or any other cause that led to a problem. Goedgedacht Trust reserves full right of admission. CANCELLATIONS: Should a cancellation take place more than 30 days prior to arrival, 25% of the deposit will be forfeited. Bookings cancelled 21 – 30 days prior to arrival will forfeit 50% of deposit, whilst cancellations 14 – 21 days prior to arrival will forfeit 75% of their deposit. Reservations cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival will receive no refund of deposit. Refunds and waiver of cancellation policies are at the discretion of the Goedgedacht Trust. In the event of your date being postponed due to unforeseen circumstances such as a pandemic, we will retain your deposit and gladly assist with securing an alternative date for you. TERMS & CONDITIONS: The photographer or videographer will be considered a paying guest and added to your total number of guests when catering is calculated. Venue hire hours are from 08:00 – 02:00, with no extensions allowed. (Take note that no music is allowed or alcohol to be served after 00h00)
WAITERS & BARMEN The venue hire fee does not include waiters, although Goedgedacht Events will be happy to supply both waiters and barman at an additional cost. BAR FACILITIES Goedgedacht Events is fully licensed and will meet and manage your entire bar & beverage requirements. Only Goedgedacht Events will manage the bar & beverage requirements and will not be outsourced to the client, caterer or any other private party involved. An open or cash bar is available. Our wine list includes a wide range of local Swartland wines, which will be available for purchase through Goedgedacht Events. We do not allow any liquor or beverages to be brought to the farm, with the exception of wine and sparkling wine, for which a corkage fee of R30 per bottle opened will be charged. All additional wine and sparkling wine must be delivered to the farm at least 24 hours before the event. Goedgedacht Events take no responsibility for any loss or damage to any wines supplied by the customer. CATERING Our in-house chef is available to assist you with a menu for your event. We have a few set-menu options available; however, should you have any suggestions, our chef would be happy to sit down to tailor make the menu according to your liking. Please advise of any dietary requirements at least 2 weeks before the event. The final menu needs to be confirmed 1 month prior to the event along with the final number of guests to be confirmed 2 weeks prior. A complimentary tasting of the menu is available with our chef for 2 individuals. Unfortunately, no additional tasters will be allowed. PRE-DRINKS A standard cash bar is available. Please enquire to receive a detailed beverage menu.
CHILDREN Goedgedacht farm is a child friendly facility, however parental supervision must be maintained at all times and the responsibility for the safe-keeping of children rests with parents. Please note that Goedgedacht Farm is a working farm, and will therefore not be liable for any unforeseen mishaps as children are brought onto the premises at their parents’ discretion. No pets allowed. SMOKING Please note that smoking is not allowed inside our venues. Damage fees will be charged / or applied when smoking indoors. No cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes or any other electronic devices are allowed indoors. DÉCOR All flower arrangements and décor needs to be organised by the client. Please note that Goedgedacht Events will not be able to assist with the setup, break- down or moving of any décor or flower arrangements. • Please ensure that all confetti is environmentally friendly. No sparklers, feathers or paper confetti allowed, as we consider our environment. • The entire farm will be yours for the day and setup is available from 08:00 onwards on the day of your event. If there are no functions on the day before your event, you are welcome to start with setup. Please arrange with us beforehand. • All décor and flowers must be removed from the venue by 14:00 the day after the wedding (unless there is an event on this day). However, you are wel come to liaise with our events manager. Any decor left behind will be donated. • Goedgedacht Events reserves the right to charge damage fees on top of the breakage deposit when damages exceed the amount. These will include any breakage or damage to venue, accommodation, furniture, cutlery, crockery, linen, glasses, tables and chairs.

Bookings and Payments Unfortunately, Goedgedacht Events does not allow for provisional bookings and can only secure a booking once the venue deposit has been paid and con- firmed. A 50% deposit is required within 48 or 24 hours to confirm all bookings. All costs pertaining to the event must be settled 14 days prior to the event. A refundable breakage deposit of R5 000 will be required for any shortages, dam- ages or breakages to the property. The balance will be repaid within 7 days after the event. Goedgedacht Events reserves the right to use any marketing material such as wedding videos or photographs for their website, social media and marketing strategies.
