Job Description Job Title: Digital Marketing Manager Job Purpose: To deliver all aspects of digital marketing for the Federation and in line with World Netball’s strategic plan ‘To Grow, To Play, To Inspire’, utilising best practice digital marketing tools to: • Expand netball’s worldwide reach and impact, building on our unique female-focused foundations, with internal and external stakeholders worldwide. • Recruit, retain and reward a ‘Magic Million’ database of netball fans to engage with our audience and commercialise this for use with our current and future partners. Reporting To: Chief Executive Supported By: Sports Administration Intern Location: World Netball HQ, MediaCityUK, Salford Quays The role is office based, minimum three days a week, with some flexibility for an element of home based working. Some domestic and international travel will also be required. Remuneration: £35k to £40k dependent on experience. Additional Benefits: 25 days annual leave, pension, healthcare scheme. Hours: Standard working hours are 9:00 to 17:00 although flexibility is required to ensure core objectives are achieved. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
Job Description Responsibilities • Develop and implement a digital strategy to bring international netball to a global audience in line with the WN’s strategic plan and commercial strategy. • Develop a communications and content strategy for WN and its digital channels including an annual marketing plan. • Plan and deliver digital marketing campaigns via all relevant channels including email, social media, apps, and website to support WN’s strategy to grow global participation, reach, revenue, and capacity. • Lead on delivery of digital products for WN, identifying where digital tools or techniques can ensure efficient and effective delivery of organisational priorities, including the creation of a ‘Magic Million’ fan database and Netball World Cup app/OTT platform. • Develop existing World Netball Rules App and databases (media, partners, WN Member Nations and Regional Federations) in line with business priorities. • Support on any commercial partnerships and ensure that any partner digital rights are delivered. • Measure and report performance on all digital marketing and assess against goals (KPI’s). • Identify the latest trends and technologies impacting the sport and marketing industries. • Manage and control the digital marketing budgets.
Job Description Responsibilities (continued) • Manage digital-related agencies and vendor relationships, including contracting and RFP processes. • Develop the World Netball Brand assets ensuring all stakeholders adhere to guidelines. • Liaise with and respond to enquiries from the press and media. • Write and edit articles, reports, statements, and press releases for WN, and manage the PR aspect of a potential crisis. • Work with WN Member Nations and Regions, through guidance and coaching to ensure they maximise their digital marketing opportunities. • Work with the Organising Committees of WN Events such as the Netball World Cup and the Commonwealth Games to deliver co-ordinated impactful communications. • Work with the CEO, Board and Commercial Committee to develop and implement digital communications that support our commercial partners, exploits sponsorship opportunities and leverages the value of the WN brand and events. • Work with WN technical panels and International Umpiring Manager to deliver resources for coaching, umpiring, and the Rules of Netball. Person Specification Skills and Experience Essential: • Demonstrable experience in Digital Marketing and Communications within the sport sector. • Experience of creating and delivering successful digital marketing strategies through relevant channels including digital, social and broadcast media. • Knowledge and understanding of creating and utilising first party databases to deliver commercial success. • Empathy and experience working with multi-cultural, multi-geographical settings with volunteers. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • The ability to prioritise, work flexibly, to withstand unconventional hours and travel domestically and internationally as required. • Tertiary level education degree (BA or similar). Desirable: • Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. marketing) • Knowledge of netball and international sporting environment
