Active lifestyle for healthy skin All activity is good activity for skin care Sweating contributes to healthy skin Take care to be ‘sun wise’ when getting physical activity Pick activities that you can do regularly Bonus result of physical activity is that it also contributes to reducing stress, which helps promote healthy skin
Get ‘beauty sleep’ Agreement between the American Academy of Dermatology Association and sleep specialists that sleep heals the skin Sleep is the time when your body repairs itself. During sleep, your skin’s blood flow increases, and the organ rebuilds its collagen and repairs damage from UV exposure, reducing wrinkles and age spots. Collagen reduces wrinkles Increased blood flow contributes to healthy looking, glowing skin
Get ‘beauty sleep’ Adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night A routine that you can stick with most if not all days is best. Have trouble getting enough or restful sleep? Keep a sleep diary to better understand what you do in the hours leading up to heading to bed (identify stimulants and irritants) so you can work on addressing them.
Stress less Finding healthy ways to manage stress can help your skin, too. Some skin diseases like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (eczema) often appear for the first time when someone feels really stressed. Stress can also cause flare-ups of many skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea.

Fun tips for healthy skin from the American Academy of Dermatology Association Dermatologists recommend using petroleum jelly to: Relieve dry skin, including your lips and eyelids. Dry skin can flake, itch, crack and even bleed. If your eyelids get dry and flaky, apply a small amount of petroleum jelly for moisture and protection. For the best results, always apply petroleum jelly when your skin is damp.
Fun tips for healthy skin from the American Academy of Dermatology Association Dermatologists recommend using petroleum jelly to help injured skin heal. For minor wounds such as cuts, scrapes, and scratches, use petroleum jelly to keep the wound moist. This helps prevent the wound from drying out and forming a scab, as scabs take longer to heal. This will also help prevent a scar from getting too large, deep or itchy. As long as a minor wound is cleaned daily, it is not necessary to use anti-bacterial ointments.
