     PARENT/CHILD SWIM LESSONS [ 6 MONTHS - 4 YEARS ]                                               Class Days of the Week & Start Times
 STAGE A - WATER DISCOVERY: Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers (ages
 6 months - 18 months old) learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim

 about water safety, drowning prevention, and the
 importance of supervision.

 STAGE B - WATER EXPLORATION: In this stage, parents work with their toddlers (18
 months - 3 years old) to explore body positions, floating, blowing bubbles, and fun-                W: 5:50p

 STAGE C - PRE-WATER ACCLIMATION CLASS: This stage is a pre-preschool class for
 children (ages 2 -4 years old) who are not quite ready to be in a swim lesson without

 a parent. They will learn how to float, kick, blow bubbles and other fundamental
 water safety skills. We will also teach parents about water safety.

               PRESCHOOL SWIM LESSONS [ 3 - 5 YEARS ]                                               Class Days of the Week & Start Times
 STAGE 1 - WATER ACCLIMATION: Students develop comfort with underwater explora-                    M/W: 4:05p | 5:50p
 tion and learn to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water in

 STAGE 2 - WATER MOVEMENT: Students focus on body position and control,

 QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN CLASS:
 Able to go under water & comfortably open eyes with/without goggles.                               Sat: 9:40a | 11:40a
 Able to float on front & back with some or minimal assistance.
 Able to jump in the pool, submerge & return to the wall with assistance

 STAGE 3 - WATER STAMINA: Students learn how to swim to safety from a
 longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water.             M/W: 6:25p
 This stage also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.

 QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN CLASS:
 Able to float on front & back unassisted.
 Able to push off the wall on stomach with face submerged for 10 feet unassisted.                   Sat: 12:20p
 Able to swim-float-swim 15 feet unassisted.
 Able to jump into deep water and return to the wall unassisted

 STAGE 4 - STROKE INTRODUCTION: Students in Stage 4 develop stroke
 technique in front crawl and back crawl and learn the breaststroke, kick and butterfly kick.
 Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.

 QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN CLASS:

 Able to submerge & retrieve an object in chest deep water.
 Able to swim front crawl 15 yards while taking a breath.
 Able to swim-float-swim 15 yards.
 Able to jump in & tread water for 30 seconds.
 Able to swim to wall & exit

   Classes must have a minimum of 3 participants in order to hold the class. If there are less than that the
   swim instructors reserve the right to combine classes with similar goals and abilities or cancel the class.

STAGE 5 - STROKE DEVELOPMENT: Students work on stroke technique and learn all major
competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and
sidestroke.

Able to front crawl & back crawl 25 yards.
Able to swim breaststroke kick and dolphin kick 15 yards.
Able to tread water using multiple kicks for 1 minute

STAGE 6 - STROKE MECHANICS: Students refine stroke technique on all major competitive
strokes, learn about competitive swimming and discover how to incorporate swimming into a
healthy lifestyle.

QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN CLASS: Able to swim front crawl with bent arm recovery & rotary
breathing for 25 yards. Able to swim back crawl with stroke rotation for 25 yards. Able able to
swim butterfly with over arm recovery. Able to swim breaststroke for 25 yards achieving
stroke rhythm. Able to dive from kneeling position

TEEN & ADULT SWIM LESSONS [15 YEARS & UP] Class Days of the Week & Start Times
STAGE 1 - WATER ACCLIMATION: This class is for any teen and adult looking to learn                       Sat: 12:20p
how to swim with basic water skills and safety.

STAGE 4 - STROKE INTRODUCTION: This class is for any teen and adult looking to                           Sat: 12:20p
improve their strokes and build endurance.

Credit/Refund Policy:      To maintain quality programming for all participants, individual missed classes may not
be made up. This includes, but is not limited to, a child who has an illness, scheduling conflict or vacation. Special circumstances must
have approval by the Swim Coordinator, however it is not guaranteed that a make-up lesson will be given. Any classes cancelled by the
YMCA due to severe weather will be made up on the FRIDAY of that week (except for Saturday lessons).

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

In consideration for being permitted to utilize the facilities, services and programs of the YMCA for any purpose, including but not limited to observation or
use of facilities or equipment, or participation in any program affiliated with the YMCA, without respect to location, the Undersigned hereby 1. RELEASES,
WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the YMCA, its directors, officers, employees and agents (hereinafter referred to as ?releases?)
from all liability to the undersigned, his/her personal representatives, guests, heirs and next of kin for any loss or damage and any claim or demands there-
fore on account of injury to the person or property, sickness or resulting in death of the undersigned while the undersigned is in, upon, or about the premises
or any facilities or equipment therein, or participating in any program affiliated with the YMCA, without respect to location.
2. AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the releases who will not be liable for any personal injury, property damage,                          disabil-
ity, death, sickness or disease incurred by myself, my family members, dependents, or guests, including minors including any loss, liability or cost they may
incur due to the presence of the undersigned in, upon or about the YMCA premises or in any way observing or using any facilities or equipment of the
YMCA or participating in any program affiliated with the YMCA.
3. ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR RISK OF BODILY INJURY, SICKNESS, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE of myself, my family mem-
bers, dependents or guests, including any minors while in, about, or upon the premises of the YMCA and/or while using the premises or any facilities or
equipment thereon or participating in any program affiliated with the YMCA. THE UNDERSIGNED further expressly agrees that the forgoing RELEASE,
WAIVER AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of North Carolina and that if any
portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. THE UNDERSIGNED HAS READ
AND VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THE RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, and further agrees that no oral representa-
tions, statements, or inducement apart from the foregoing written agreement have been made. I have read, understand, and affirm that my child is in good
health and physical condition and am signing this of my own free will. I Agree to all of the foregoing.
