Accreditation Statement The SHINE Conference is offered jointly by the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing and the Johns Hopkins Department of Nursing. The Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing is accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Disclosure Statement It is the policy of the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing to require our continuing nursing education program faculty and planning committee members to disclose any financial relationships with companies providing program funding or manufacturers of any commercial products discussed in the program. Commercial Support This educational activity did not solicit or receive funding from any commercial entity, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. How to Obtain Contact Hours Participants are eligible to receive nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) contact hours for attending this conference. The American Nurses Credentialing Center has changed the term continuing nursing education (CNE) to NCPD. Instead of earning CNE, nurses will earn NCPD. Contact hours will continue to be the measure of credit earned. So, 1 hour of CNE is equal to 1 hour of NCPD. This year’s conference will offer up to 4.5 hours of NCPD. You can earn 1 hour of NCPD by viewing six posters. You can earn 4.5 hours of NCPD by viewing Opening Remarks by Deb Baker, Keynote Presentation with Suzanne Dutton, Closing Remarks with Joyce Parks, six videos in the On-Demand Library,* four podium presentations, and six posters. To obtain contact hours, you must complete the associated online evaluation form below: Evaluation for Partial Conference: 1 NCPD Evaluation for Full Conference: 4.5 NCPD 3
Participants will have until Nov. 26, 2021, to participate in the conference and complete the evaluation form. Upon completion of the evaluation, an NCPD certificate will be emailed within two to three weeks. *NOTE: Attendees may not claim NCPD credit for watching the same videos twice. If you watched one of the Favorites from Last Year videos in 2020 and received CNE credits in 2020, you cannot claim NCPD credits for watching the videos again this year. How to Obtain Additional Straight Time Johns Hopkins Health System employees may be eligible to receive additional straight time (AST) for attending this conference. You can earn 4 hours of AST by participating in four hours of conference content anytime throughout the week. Conference content includes the live sessions, prerecorded videos in the on-demand library and posters in the virtual Poster Hall. If you’re interested in receiving AST for attending this conference, please reach out to your unit manager and/or SHINE Conference representative for more information and approval.
