Page 3 December 25, 2022 PARISH NEWS A NEW INFANT OF PRAGUE STATUTE Have you noticed the new statue adorning the wall along the side of the confessional? We are thankful to a parishioner for donating the Infant of Prague statue, which is especially timely as we approach Christmas. By depicting Jesus as a child, the tradition of the Infant of Prague emphasizes His humanity, and how we are children of God because of the salvation that He brings us. In His left hand, the Infant Jesus holds a miniature globe topped by a cross, representing His kingship over the world. His right hand is raised in blessing, with two fingers bent to reflect Christ’s divine and human nature, and the other three fingers raised to symbolize the unity of the Trinity. As Pope Benedict XVI said: The figure of the Child Jesus, the tender infant, brings home to us God's closeness and his love. Miraculous Infant, we believe in Your promise of peace, blessings, and freedom from want. We place every need and care in Your hands. Please note the rectory office will be closed for the Christmas Holiday from December 26th to January 1st. The office will reopen Monday January 2nd. THE SOLEMNITY OF MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD May the peace and hope of Christ’s New Year’s Eve: Saturday December 31st birth be with you now and throughout No 8:30 AM Confessions the New Year! Vigil Mass 4:00 PM Rev. Christopher J. Papa, Rev. Russell Ortega, New Year’s Day: Sunday January 1st 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 AM Rev. William Lange and the Parish Staff.
