FROM AVENUE Q TO SHOWCASE – RHET’S DISCOVERY CENTRE GOES ONLINE! A RANGE OF INTERACTIVE ONLINE ACTIVITIES WERE HOSTED BY RHET THIS YEAR The Royal Highland Education Trust was proud to highlight its education programme at this year’s Royal Highland Showcase. Typically on Avenue Q at the Royal Highland Showground, the charity moved online this year after weeks of diligent planning from a team of dedicated volunteers and staff. They were given a prime location in the main menu of Showcase. And as a result, the new online Discovery Centre was a huge success! A RHET GROUP FROM 2019 Thousands of people clicked through to the Discovery Centre, where they uncovered information on topics like arable, beef, dairy, food, land-use, machinery, sheep, and the countryside. A section was also dedicated to RHET’s volunteers and featuring videos created by each RHET area featuring local volunteers. RHET ran a very well attended free teacher webinar on the Thursday of Showcase week, sponsored by SRUC, which was a success. Feedback gathered so far is that it was very valuable for all attendees, urging plans for similar events in the future.
