DETAILED ITINERARY: August 26, 2021: Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy We arrive in Rome and are met with an amazing amalgam of sights and sounds, Rome is a kinetic tapestry stimulating every sense. The ring of church bells and honks of early morning traffic echo off the weathered stone of ancient buildings. Office workers dash past fruit stands and sidewalk cafés in the shadows of elegant palace façades. Meanwhile, tourists make their way from piazza to piazza, monument to monument, church to church: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica. From the sculptures of the ancients to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes to the Baroque fountains of Bernini, Rome’s art and architecture are unsurpassed. Here the day-to-day life of a busy European metropolis intermingles with many of the most recognizable monuments ever created. Rome belongs not only to Italy, but to the world. Depart at 22:00 on 14th August 27, 2021: Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Italy Porto Cervo’s magnificent yacht marina is the swish centerpiece of Sardinia’s dazzlingly beautiful Costa Smeralda. This stylish port, founded in the 1960s by the Aga Khan, has since become a playground for the rich and famous and a vacation spot of choice for the international jet setter. Celebrities like to flock here to enjoy the resort’s high-end charms, so it’s no surprise that it’s the summer headquarters for the Italian paparazzi. Relax like a superstar on the beach at Cappricioli, only a 10 minute cab ride away, or head to the Promenade du Port, which is at the heart of Porto Cervo’s stylish social life. There you’ll find the finest boutiques, galleries and gourmet restaurants. Shop in designer stores or sip on a cool glass of Champagne at the elegant Zamira Lounge. Arrive at 8:00 on 27th | Depart at 19:00 on 27th August 28, 2021: Calvi, Corsica, France With growing popularity as a beach resort, this small town on the northwest coast of Corsica is a delight to visit. Walk along the lively beachside promenade where you’ll find restaurants, bars and shops. A 15th- century citadel built by the Genoese takes its place of prominence on the hilltop above the town, affording spectacular views of the harbor below. Visit Église Sainte-Marie, a charming pink church, and Notre Dame de la Serra, a 19th-century chapel. You’ll see a plaque that commemorates the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, but the claim is controversial. For natural wonders, take a boat tour of the beautiful rock formations of the Scandola Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Arrive at 8:00 on 28th | Depart at 22:00 on 28th August 29, 2021: Sailing With a day at sea, enjoy the unique opportunity to unplug and relax into the unhurried life on board. August 30, 2021: Alcúdia, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain Sitting between two bays on the beautiful La Victoria peninsula, Alcúdia is a charming base for exploring the stunning coastline, mountains and ancient monuments of northeastern Mallorca. The Old Town’s 14th century walls and two impressive gates encompass a restored center of quaint streets, pretty squares and medieval and Renaissance buildings. Just outside Alcúdia’s walls you’ll find the fascinating ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pollèntia – the island’s most important archeological site – and just minutes away you’ll discover the lively nautical hub of Port d'Alcúdia, with its waterfront restaurants, relaxing cafés and palm-fringed promenades. Port d'Alcúdia’s sandy beach is perfect for swimming and watersports and stretches all the way to the next village. Arrive at 8:00 on 30th | Depart at 18:00 on 30th August 31 - September 1, 2021: Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Spain One of Europe's favorite playgrounds, Ibiza boasts more than 100 miles of coastline frosted with exquisite beaches. It's a hub of sun worship, white sand, beach bars and clubs that buzz all night. And there's history too. The fortified Old Town, known as Dalt Vila, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a spectacular example of Renaissance military architecture. Carrer del Calvari leads to Portal Nou, the entrance through the old city walls, and a walk up the hill reveals panoramic views of the city. Interestingly, the contemporary art museum is found here – housed in a 17th-century building – as is the impressive Ibiza Cathedral. Another fascinating site, the necropolis of Puig des Molins features ancient burial chambers and treasures found within them, including painted ostrich eggs. The island is home to multiple vineyards producing high -quality wines, and shopping ranges from the famous hippy markets to luxury boutiques. Arrive at 8:00 on 31st | Depart at 12:00 on 1st September 2-3, 2021: Má laga, Spain Tall hotels rise up from the golden beaches in Málaga, the historic enclave on the Costa del Sol. While the Mediterranean bathes its coastline, Málaga's mountains back the city to form a cocoon that ensures mild weather. Málaga is among the world's oldest cities, founded 2,800 years ago and settled by Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Visigoths and Christians. Looming over the skyline are the citadels Alcazaba and Castle of Gibralfaro, remnants of Moorish rule. Málaga was revitalized in recent years, now featuring some 30 museums and an edgy urban art community. Picasso's hometown naturally has a museum dedicated to him, as well as the Centre Pompidou and Museo Carmen Thyssen. Málaga also boasts a chic cuisine scene – but a simple bowl of traditional porra antequerana soup is never hard to find. A must- see in the hills surrounding Málaga are the pueblos blancos, white villages bursting with Andalusian charm Arrive at 18:00 on 28th | Disembark at 22:00 on 3rd
