Rösler Roller Conveyor Machines Type RRB Applications Surface preparation Beams, metal sheets, pipes/tubes, slabs, welding constructions Rösler roller conveyor shot blast systems are used for de-scaling, de-rusting, paint removal, paint preparation and general cleaning of metal plate, pipes/tubes, I-beams and welded Smoothing Pickled or eroded surfaces, machining lines, etc. fabrications. Optimum blast results are achieved on thin gauge aluminium profiles as well as on Decorative blasting Light metals, stainless steel, copper, brass, etc. heavy steel profiles and steel slabs. Standard roller conveyor machines can process product from Peening Parts exposed to high stress, torsion bars, etc. 600 mm up to 5,000 mm width with roller conveyor speeds from 0.5 to 4.0 m/min. Higher performance systems allow product speeds of up De-burring Flame cut, sawed and stamped parts to 8 m/min. The number of blast turbines and their position ensures optimum blast results. The spent blast media, scale and fines are collected and transported by screw conveyors and elevator. 4 Hurricane® Turbines It passes through a rotary screen drum, an air wash An essential feature of the Rösler shot blast systems are the high performance Hurricane Turbines: Their separator and finally through a further static or tilt- quantity, position and performance along with the geometry and dimensions of the blast cabinet ensure ing screen, before being deposited in the large optimum blast results. abrasive media hopper, with level sensors. 4 Dust collectors The machine width, number of blast turbines and Separate or integrated systems -- dry or wet systems -- with or without explosion protection! Rösler Hurricane®-Turbines Blast Turbine Hurricane® Blasting media is fed through a central feed tube into the high speed rotating turbine. The centrifugal force, of the rotating turbine, throws the media at the components to be blasted at speeds of up to 120 m/s. The design of the blades, insertion point, and the speed of the turbine determine the processing results in conjunction with the blasting media. In order to achieve an economic utilization of the blasting media, the amount of blasting media and the transfer to the turbine blades can be easily adjusted. The blast media flow is either fixed or can be adjusted automatically through the PLC/control panel. A clam shell valve controls the media flow from the media hopper to the turbines. The blast pattern – e.g. position of the hot spot – can easily be adjusted from outside of the turbine. The turbine speed can be adjusted with a frequency inverter thus allowing gentle or very aggres- sive blasting. Rösler offers a dust collector for every conceivable blast application. All Rösler dust collectors are in full compliance with govern- mental safety regulations. As required, they can be upgraded to handling combustible dusts (explosion-proof systems). Two different systems – wet or dry collectors – can be offered Frequently dry collectors are equipped with a fine filter “Police filter“. Residual dust load < 0.5 mg/m³. The standard “backpack” filter on the blast machine reduces the space requirements by up to 10 m². The short air ducts contribute to a greatly Backpack filter located on blast machine improved filter efficiency. 10 11
Automation Our customers can choose from numerous equipment RRB 34/6 HD-So options. Rosler roller conveyor systems are available as Roller conveyor blast machine with each stand-alone shot blast machines all the way up to fully individually angled and tilted turbines (4 automatic preservation lines. upper and 4 bottom turbines) for blast cleaning of Plates and Profiles. RRB 16/5 For blast cleaning (de-scaling, de-rusting) of Plate & Blast cleaning of welding constructions Profile /Sections. Special roller conveyor machines for blast cleaning of complex Welded fabrications and constructions; where all surfaces are required to be cleaned. For example Head- and base-plates, welded ribs and re-enforcements must be de-scaled and de- rusted. The welded seams must be cleaned of weld scale and acidic flux. All-around blast cleaning of outer and inner surfaces are achieved through 2 “circular blast zones”. The first “blast zone” consists of equally spaced turbines mounted in a circular convex fashion onto the roof and bottom of the blast cabin – with larger machi- RRBK 22/11 nes there are additional turbines mounted to the cabin walls. Special version with greater pass height. Special chamber end covers prevent media spillage. Alternatively the second “blast zone” of turbines are placed at an angle relative to the direction of the product transportation. The blast pattern created by these “blast zones” allows all-around blast cleaning together with leading and trailing ends. Preservation lines Rösler roller conveyor blast machines can be upgraded to complete preservation lines (Pre-heater, blast machine, paint booth, dryer). These lines are complemented by customer-specific component transport systems. RDR 400 Rösler Rohrstrahlanlage For single file blast cleaning of bar stock or tubes. 12 13
