Rösler Roller Conveyor Machines Type RRB Rösler roller conveyor shot blast systems are used for de-scaling, de-rusting, paint removal, paint preparation and general cleaning of metal sheets, pipes/tubes, I-beams and weldments. Optimum blast results are achieved on thin gauge aluminum profiles as well as on heavy steel profiles and steel slabs. Standard roller conveyor machines can process parts from 2 ft to 16.5 ft width with roller con- veyor speeds from 1.6 to 13 fpm. High performance systems allow parts speeds of up to 24.5 fpm. The quantity of blast wheels and their position ensures optimum blast results. The thrown blast media is col- lected with screw conveyors and transported to the media hopper through an elevator, screen drum or til- ting screen and air wash separator. The machine width, number of blast wheels and their location is determined by parts size and production speed. Standard systems are used for processing metal sheets and beams. Standard systems are frequently modified to allow processing of welding constructions of different sizes and geometries. Quality – made in Germany... For Rösler the word quality has deeper meaning than just fault - free, reliable and durable products. Quality is an essential part of our work philosophy and is expressed in the personal sense of duty and quality found in each of our employees. Certification according to DIN ISO 9001 is living proof of our commitment to quality. RÖSLER MACHINES ALL AND UNITS HAVE THE geprüfte Sicherheit GS AND CE MARKS 2
Applications Surface preparation Beams, metal sheets, pipes/tubes, slabs, welding constructions Smoothing Pickled or eroded surfaces, machining lines, etc. Decorative blasting Light metals, stainless steel, copper, brass, etc. Peening Parts exposed to high stress, torsion bars, etc. De-burring Flame cut, sawed and stamped parts Hurricane®-blast wheels An essential feature of the Rösler shot blast systems are the high performance Hurricane® blast wheels: Their quantity, position and performance along with the geometry and dimensions of the blast cabinet ensure optimum blast results. Dust collectors Separate or integrated systems -- dry or wet systems -- with or without explosion protection! Rösler offers a wide range of dust collector models which incorporate the latest dust collecting and separation technologies. Rösler offers dust collector solutions for any shot blast application. Modular equipment designs Rösler roller conveyor shot blast systems can easily be expanded to fully automatic preservation (paint) lines. Painting of the parts is frequently required to put a corrosion protection coating on the blasted parts. There are special shop primers which provide a corrosion protection coating for up to 6 months. Roller conveyor shot blast/preservation lines can easily be integrated into existing manufacturing processes. Corrosion protection is particularly important for ship yards, because long manufacturing cycles require extended temporary corrosion protection. However, steel dealers, steel mills and steel fabricators are more and more utilizing such preservation technologies. Integrated blasting/painting is possible by expanding the shot blaster with a paint line 3
Rösler Hurricane ® Blast Wheels Blasting media is fed through a central feed tube into the high speed rotating blast wheel. The centrifugal force, of the rotating wheel, throws the media at the components to be blasted at speeds of up to 300 ft/sec. The design of the blades, insertion point, and the speed of the blast wheel determine the processing results in conjunction with the blasting media. In order to achieve an economic utilization of the blasting media, the amount of blasting media and the transfer to the blast wheel blades can be easily adjusted. The blast media flow is either fixed or can be adjusted automatically through the PLC/control panel. A clam shell valve controls the media flow from the media hopper to the blast wheels. The blast pattern – e.g. position of the hot spot – can easily be adjusted from outside of the blast wheel. The blast wheel speed can be adjusted with a frequency inverter thus allowing gentle or very aggressive blasting. All Rösler dust collectors are in full compliance with governmental safety regulations. As required, they can be upgraded to handling combustible dusts (explosion-proof systems). Two different systems – wet or dry collectors – can be offered Frequently dry collectors are equipped with a fine filter “Police filter“. Residual dust load < 0.00043 grains/cu ft. In case of combustible or explosive dust the use of explosion protected dust collectors is required by law! Dry collector (standard), optionally available in explosion protected version 11
Automation Our customers can choose from multiple equipment options. Rosler roller conveyor systems are available as stand-alone shot blast machines all the way up to fully automatic preservation lines RRB 16/5 For blast cleaning (de-scaling, de-rusting) of metal sheets and beams RRB 11/8 Special version with larger pass height. Special covers prevent media spillage. RDR 400 Rösler pipe or tube blaster For single file blast cleaning of bar stock or tubes 12
RRB 27/6 Roller conveyor blast machine with double tilted blast wheels (3 upper and 3 lower wheels) for blast cleaning of metal sheets Blast cleaning of welding constructions Special roller conveyor machines for blast cleaning of complex welding constructions where all surfaces are cleaned. For example head- and base-plates, welded ribs and re-enforcements must be de-scaled and de-rusted. And the welding seams must be cleaned. All-around blast cleaning of outer and inner surfaces takes place through 2 “blast zones”. The first “blast zone” consists of equally spaced blast wheels mounted onto the roof and bottom of the blast cabin – with larger machines there are also blast wheels mounted to the cabin walls. The second “blast zone” of blast wheels is placed at a negative angle relative to the direction of the parts transport. The blast pattern created by these two “blast zones” allows all-around blast cleaning of a vertically placed base-plate. Preservation lines Rösler roller conveyor blast machines can be upgraded to complete preservation lines (Pre-heater, blast machine, paint booth, dryer). These lines are complemented by customer-specific parts transport systems. 13
