Roger Dow President & CEO U.S. Travel Association Roger Dow is president and CEO of U.S. Travel Association, the Washington, D.C.- based organization representing all segments of travel in America. U.S. Travel’s mission is to increase travel to and within the United States. As the leading travel industry advocate, Dow and his team regularly meet with executive branch and congressional leaders to advance policies that benefit the broader travel industry. His efforts have resulted in major legislative victories, including his instrumental role in establishing and renewing Brand USA, the highly effective national travel and tourism promotion program. Dow and U.S. Travel are also leaders of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition, which promotes and defends the value of face-to-face business meetings, trade shows, conferences and conventions. U.S. Travel provides the industry unrivaled research and analysis and holds renowned annual events, such as IPW, the leading international inbound travel trade show, and ESTO, the premier learning and knowledge-sharing forum for destination marketing professionals. Most recently, Dow launched The Dow Report, a regular video series that featues conversations with prominent CEOs from across all segments of the industry about their leadership and insights throughout the coronavirus pandemic. For his efforts to unify the travel industry and increase its effectiveness on Capitol Hill, Dow has been the recipient of multiple honors, including MPI’s 2018 Industry Leader Award. Dow has also held seats on several boards, including ASAE, GWSAE, MPI Foundation, PCMA, RE/MAX International, the Travel Institute and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100, among others. Prior to joining U.S. Travel in 2005, Dow spent 34 years at Marriott International, rising to senior vice president of global and field sales. Dow served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star and other citations. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall University and was honored as a Most Distinguished Alumnus in 2012. In addition, he holds an honorary degree from Johnson & Wales University.
Jill Estorino President and Managing Director Disney Parks International Jill Estorino is President and Managing Director, Disney Parks International. In this role, Jill oversees the operations and development of Disney’s parks and resorts outside of the United States, including Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort with the Oriental Land Company. Around the world, Jill’s teams mix legendary guest service with storytelling, creativity and innovation to bring magical memories to life for the millions of fans and families visiting Disney parks each year. Previously, Jill served as the Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Sales for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, overseeing a global team of more than 2,000 professionals responsible for innovatively promoting Disney’s global destinations, products, experiences, and signature vacations. Throughout her career with The Walt Disney Company, Jill has held a variety of site-based and global leadership roles focused on driving visitation and affinity for Disney’s products and offerings. Her past roles include Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Asia Pacific; Senior Vice President, Marketing Strategy; and Senior Vice President of Marketing at both Hong Kong Disneyland and the Disneyland Resort in California. A widely sought-after speaker and thought leader on brand experience and marketing innovation, Jill is also a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. She serves as executive champion for several internal and external initiatives focused on elevating women in the workplace. Jill is a member of the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Executive Committee, as well as the Shanghai Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of National Advertisers.
Michelle Gielan Founder Institute for Applied Positive Research Michelle Gielan, founder of the Institute for Applied Positive Research, has been studying the connection between happiness and success for more than a decade. She is the bestselling author of Broadcasting Happiness: The Science of Igniting and Sustaining Positive Change and was named one of the Top 10 authors on resilience by the Harvard Business Review. Michelle holds a masters in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Tufts University in Computer Engineering. She is an Executive Producer of “The Happiness Advantage” on PBS and a featured professor in Oprah’s Happiness course. Michelle formerly served as anchor of The CBS Morning News, and her research has received attention from dozens of media outlets including The Washington Post, FORBES, and The New York Times.
Brian King Global Officer, Distribution, Revenue Strategy, Engagement Centers, Sales + Services Marriott International As Global Officer of Distribution, Revenue Strategy, Engagement Centers, Sales & Services for Marriott International, Brian King’s team optimizes demand, drives revenue and delivers a seamless experience for customers across the company’s sales channels. Brian’s portfolio encompasses Distribution, which oversees the company’s relationships with traditional travel partners and online intermediaries such as Expedia and Google. Brian also has responsibility for the Global Sales Organization that manages the company’s largest multinational accounts representing $21+ billion in worldwide sales across all segments from luxury, group, leisure and corporate transient. Additionally, Brian provides leadership for the Customer Engagement Centers, whose associates serve over 67 million customers annually; Revenue Strategy teams, who determined pricing strategies using sophisticated machine learning optimization tools; and Planning and Services teams, who create and drive strategic plans to drive performance, connect ideas and accelerate results across disciplines. In January 2021, Brian will assume a new role as President of Marriott’s Caribbean and Latin America region, and will provide leadership and oversight for more than 280 Marriott hotels across 20 different brands. Brian is a distinguished speaker and panelist at many industry conferences and summits and has been a featured contributor for USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Time. In addition, he is an appointed Commissioner for the California Travel & Tourism Commission and a judge for the Digital Interactive Advertising Board. He was named one of the 25 Most Influential People in the meetings industry by Successful Meetings and is a 2018 recipient of Fortune Partners Top Service Award for his leadership in customer recognition management. He is also a board member on Immigration Equality whose mission helps provide free legal support for asylum seekers. Brian has a B.A. in Communications from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement. He has completed executive education courses at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the School of Hotel Management at Cornell University.
Caroline Beteta President & CEO Visit California Caroline Beteta serves as president & CEO of the industry-led Visit California, a nonprofit organization created to market California as a premier travel destination to increase the state’s share of tourism-related revenues. She simultaneously serves as the Director of Tourism in California’s Governor’s Office of Business & Economic Development (GO-Biz). Beteta is responsible for implementing Visit California’s global marketing program and serves as the lead spokesperson for California’s travel industry. She has shepherded the growth of Visit California into a global marketing franchise and helped restore travel and tourism following numerous natural and economic crises.
