MARATHON DU MONT-BLANC B JULY 01- 04, 2021 E FO R E T H Bibs collection E R You have to book an appointment. Each race bib is distributed individually to the runner upon presentation A of an ID card with photo. Without this documentation a bib will not be given. Runners whose equipment is not C E complete during random check, won’t be able to claim their bib. Bibs are not tranferable between runners. Any person selling or giving their race bib to another runner will be liable in case of an accident involving this person. Anyone acquiring a bib in breach of these regulations may be disqualified without a refund. The organisation accepts no liability in the case of an accident in this situation. In oder to ensure the smooth-running of bib collection the persons accompanying the runners are asked to remain outside the collection tent. Important information • Competitors are asked to check their information on the registration page or when picking up their bibs (gender, date of birth, surname, first name, phone number): No complaints maybe made after the start of the races. • Bags: Use only the bag provided by the organisation. • Please note no bags can be left at the bib pick up point. If you leave personal effects the organisation will not be held responsible in case of loss or theft. MARATHON DU MONT-BLANC E JULY 01- 04, 2021 C A R E T H Bib numbers E Please note down your bib number from your runner’s account as you will be asked for it when you pick R up your bib. Please, check that your personal details are correct (surname, first name, mobile phone FO number, date of birth and contact details in the event of an emergency). E The race number must be fully visible during the race. B Personnal accident insurance Each competitor must, have their own accident insurance which will cover any costs of search and rescue in France. Such insurance can be taken out with any organisation of the competitor’s choice e.g. the French Federation of Athletics who offer a subscription to ‘Pass’ Running’ or membership. Warning ! Helicopter-borne evacuations are not free of charge by a private helicopter. The choice of the evacuation depends entirely on the organisation, which will systematically prioritise the runners’ security. Don’t forget ! Ask your accommodation provider for a guest card to use public transport free of charge for the duration of your stay in Chamonix. THE HERITAGE MARATHON A treasure in a setting, this is a beautiful description of the Chamonix valley, a unique environmental heritage that sometimes makes you forget the cultural richness that the valley offers. Based on this observation, the municipality of Chamonix and the sports club have worked with cultural providers in the area to offer an innovative cultural offer: the Heritage Marathon. From June 29 to July 6, heritage tours will be offered at attractive prices (€ 8 for adults, free for children under 14) on the routes of the Mont-Blanc Marathon races, the objective being to open up the perspective and give another look at the villages and places that runners pass through. MARATHON DU MONT-BLANC E JULY 01- 04, 2021 C A R E H T G IN R Refreshments U D Refreshments have been tailored to each races and distance. Food : Stewed fruit in bottles, fruit jelly, madeleines, energy barres, crakers, and only on the 90km du Mont-Blanc : soup. Drinks : still water, sparkling water, Coca-Cola, tea (in case of bad weather). No cups at refreshment points In order to protect to environnement no drinking cups will be provided at the refreshment points. Each runner must bring their own cup to be used during the race. Race withdrawals If a participant pulls out of the race, they must inform the person in charge at the nearest refreshment or control post, hand in their electronic timing chip, and inform this person of their bib number. If a runner drops out their bib number will be communicated to the race headquarters, and a mark will be made on the bib by the post manager. The runner will then be invited to take public transportation back to Chamonix (free with the gest card). For the 23km, 42km and Young Race Marathon, the bags of the runners who have given up will be transfered to the Buffet (at the sports center Richard Bozon) the same day. For the Vertical Kilometer, the bags of the runners who have given up will be transfer to the PC race (at the Sports Club). For the Duo Etoilé, if one of the two participants withdrawal, the other one also. If there is no member of the organisation near you when you withdraw, please text your bib number followed by the word ABANDON and the place where you are at the mobile number indicated on your bib. Assistance No assistance inside refreshments, help for runners is only allowed 20m before or 20m after each refreshment station. Any assistance outside these areas is prohibited. Race stewards present on the course, and the heads of posts at the various control and refuelling points are authorised to enforce the rules and immediately apply a penalty in the event of non-compliance with these zones. Safety benefits In order to ensure the safety of the runners during the races of the Marathon du Mont-Blanc, the timing system can identify runners accumulating abnormal delays during the race.This can trigger an alert, and in this case the race headquarters is likely to call you on your mobile phone. 8

R A C E Respect the environment The Mont-Blanc Marathon races run through a unique and fragile environment. Please respect the site by not throwing any litter and staying on the trails. Any runner seen committing any of these offences will receive penalty. Awards ceremony This year, the awards ceremony will take place in the finish area of each race. For each of the races, the first three men and the first three women in the scratch will be rewarded. Duo Etoilé : the first three men’s teams, the first three women’s teams and the first three mixed teams will be rewarded. 42 km du Mont-Blanc : the first five women and the first five men will be rewarded. Raffle This year, the draws will be done digitally, the results will be announced on our social networks and an SMS will be sent to each winner. The prizes will be collected at the Sports Club. To be won: stays in the most beautiful hotels in Chamonix, helicopter flight, glasses, meals, sportswear, beauty products and many other prizes to be won ... In order to preserve the environment in which the Mont-Blanc Marathon races take place, all public transport in the valley, from Servoz to Vallorcine, will be free upon presentation of a guest card (remember to ask your host). To benefit from this free admission, the guest card will be used as a ticket. FOLLOW THE RACES! From home, on the trails or in the centre of Chamonix follow the runners live during the 3 days. GOOD BEHAVIOUR Dear race followers, we kindly ask you to respect those who live in the villages in which the races of the Mont-Blanc Marathon take place. It is forbidden to park anywhere: in the middle of the road, on the side of the road, in the fields and on private land... Breaking these rules may result in the runner your are following being disqualified. We remind you that accompanying shuttles are offered on the 90 km, 23 km and 42 km, they will allow you to follow your runner without having to worry about parking. 10

As the time range between refueling is wide, it is quite possible to reach all points using these two means of transport. Below is the service plan : 90KM 90KM For the 23km of Mont-Blanc and the 42km of Mont-Blanc, the usual line 2 and the Mont-Blanc Express train serve most of the refreshment points of the race. In addition to this public transports, the organization is adding dedicated shuttles to increase the frequency of bus rotations between refreshments. MARATHON DU MONT-BLANC C N JULY 01- 04, 2021 LA B T- N O M Safety reminder U D M K The Mont-Blanc 90km is a very technical race! Although the route is exclusively along hiking trails, these are 90 sometimes narrow and aerial. Some parts of the course take place exclusively in the snow and frequent altitude changes between 2000m and 2500m require acclimatisation. The weather can change rapidly in the mountains (wind, precipitation, heat/cold) and be aware that running at night can sometimes increase the feeling of difficulty. To participate in this race it is recommended you have a good experience of mountain running, are at ease in all terrains and can be autonomous for many hours. The race takes place over a maximum of 24 hours, regardless of the course. Bib collection : by appointment (booking on your runner’s account) To collect your bib you must come on your own, bring your racing bag including all the required equipment, an ID with a picture and you proof of appointment. The time barriers are calculated on the official departure time of the last wave. Warning ! The maximum race time is calculated in relation to the official time of your starting wave. 16
MARATHON DU MONT-BLANC 90 JULY 01- 04, 2021 K M D U M O N T- Time barriers B LA N The time barriers on the Mont-Blanc 90km are for the safety of runners. Indeed, the partici- C pants who could not cross these time barriers in the allotted time are not allowed are people who are not able to continue the race. The different time barriers are calculated taking into account the profile of the terrain (positive and negative altitude difference) but also the time spent on refuelling, any control points encountered or slowdowns that may occur throughout the route. To complete the Mont-Blanc 90km in 24 hours, this represents an average running speed of 3.5 km/h. Any runner who refuses to submit to the application of the time barrier and does not res- pect the volunteers in charge of enforcing these regulations, will be disqualified for life from the Mont-Blanc Marathon events. Mandatory Equipment • Your own drinking cup. • A reserve of at least 1 litre of water. • Waterproof and windproof jacket in the runners’ size with hood (e.g. Gore-Tex) • Clothing hot second layer long sleeve adapted to its size. • Survival blanket (140cm x 200cm). • Whistle. • Working mobile phone. It must work and have a subscription for France. • Headlamp or chest lamp with spare batteries. • ID card. • Bowl and spoon • Mask 17
