Dear Members and Friends of White Eagle, I am happy to write this letter of warm welcome to New Lands during 2020. This will be a different year for us as we prepare for the birth of our new Temple. However, during this time, I believe all our regular servers, our visitors, and those staying at New Lands for retreats and courses, have an opportunity to give valuable gifts of light and love to the angels of form and beauty who are helping our earthly designers and builders to create a wonderful and fitting Temple for the years ahead. Even though during the building process the actual Temple site will not be accessible, New Lands gardens will be open and our iconic 'cross within the circle' walk – beautiful for morning sunrise and evening sunset walks. As many of you know, there is something really magical about New Lands chapel where all services will be held until the new building is ready. This is where the spiritual work at New Lands began, back in 1945 long before the first Temple was built. Sitting in this lovely chapel is like coming into the heart of a rose of all-enfolding love. I do hope you will experience this yourself. We have some interesting retreats planned and services as well as healing groups will all be in this beautiful little sanctuary of peace. With loving welcome and warm greeting, Jason Wilson, Head of Trustees, writes: 'As we compile this Events Brochure plans are well under way for the rebuilding of our temple to commence in Spring/Summer 2020. During this time there will obviously be some disruption at New Lands, although at the time of writing we do not have any specific dates. 'Once the current temple is closed activities and services will be moved to the chapel in New Lands house. 2

RETREATS at NEW LANDS Retreats at New Lands offer you the opportunity to withdraw from the outer world with its pressures and claims in order to spend a few days in a space which nourishes you both physically and spiritually, and in beautiful surroundings, including the world of nature: time in White Eagle’s home. It is a time when you can connect to your soul purpose through meditation and communion with the divine spirit within and with the higher worlds. All real learning and growth comes from what we find for ourselves in our own heart centre, and a retreat encourages you to gently unfold in your own way. You also have the opportunity to be part of White Eagle’s Wisdom School for the mind in the heart, rather than the outer intellect. On all retreats there are times for meditation, experiential sessions, discussion, spiritual practice, teaching, questions, fun and time for reflection. At the end of the retreat we hope participants will leave having opened up a wider channel between the earthly personality and the spiritual self, and feeling refreshed and at peace. Retreats also offer time for light-heartedness and companionship with like-minded people. Indeed, friendships are often forged which last for years. The food at New Lands is plentiful, vegetarian and vegan, with some organic produce. We have a welfare-based dairy and egg policy approved by Compassion in World Farming. If you have a medically diagnosed food allergy or intolerance, please let us know and we will endeavour to cater for you. For more details of costs, information and bursaries please see pp 28-29. 4
RETREATS at NEW LANDS Retreats Open to All A Teacher for the New Age? Saturday 23 to Thursday 28 May led by Colum Hayward White Eagle has sometimes intimated that to understand the teacher for the Aquarian Age we need to look at John, whom we primarily identify with the Gospel that carries his name, along with the book of Revelation. In this retreat, we look at what we would look for in a new teacher, and explore a vision of John and why White Eagle’s suggestions carry weight. In the process, we may understand more of White Eagle. Colum facilitates a retreat that is primarily intended to be a 'sharing'. Cost: £425 'Walking in the Master's Footsteps' Saturday 11 to Wednesday 15 July a retreat led by Rozita Hansen White Eagle says: 'The whole doctrine of Jesus is that of brotherhood and of the power of love. The two thousand years of the Piscean Age which have passed should be regarded as a period of preparation. In the age ahead, the Aquarian Age, humanity will be given the opportunities to put this teaching into action.’ In the light of White Eagle's interpretation we will explore the teachings of Jesus, and try to discover how we can use them in our everyday lives, so that we can put them into action with greater awareness. Cost: £340 'Exploring the Soul's Harvest' Saturday 26 September to Thursday 1 October led by Anna Hayward Through meditation, reflection and discussion of the White Eagle teaching we will explore the nature of the physical in relation to the soul's path in our lifetimes. In the teaching we find reference to the akashic records, dreams, reincarnation, the purpose of the spiral of life and the nature of truth; understanding more about the profundity of our existence gives us strength and vision to face the challenges of our days. Cost: £425 This retreat coincides with the Peace Day and Harvest Festival Service to which all are welcome (see page 11). 5
RETREATS at NEW LANDS 'The Closeness of the Two Worlds' Weekend Retreat Friday 13 to Monday 16 November led by Jeremy Hayward. Join Jeremy in exploring how thin is the veil between the physical and the inner worlds. During this weekend we will share personal experiences and White Eagle's teaching and in the peace of New Lands chapel feel together how close are the two worlds. Cost: £255 Retreat and Weekend for Members 'Slipping into the Shining Sea' Saturday 27 June to Thursday 2 July led by Anna Hayward. Conciousness of the divine within is explored through meditation and reflection, as well as through understanding more about the process of relaxing the physical/mental/emotional self, and being aware of something 'other' — that illimitable 'shining sea'. Cost: £425 'Healing and the Power of Creative Thought' weekend Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September led by Jan deVulder. An opportunity to explore how healing links in many ways with the mind. How it offers ways to find peace and quieten the mind as well as how to use the mind flexibly and so find the way to the ‘mind in the heart’. Cost: £255 Brotherhood Retreats 'In the Temple of the Pearl Buddha' Thursday 7 to Tuesday 12 May led by Jenny Dent Jenny Dent will lead this inspirational Wisdom School retreat. A focus of the Retreat will be our crystal healing work, attunement to the Buddha’s 'Noble Eightfold Path', and the way through suffering as taught by both the Buddha and White Eagle. Cost: £425 'Pythagoras, Sun Men and Women and Planetary Angels' Saturday 25 to Wednesday 29 July led by Jenny Dent A retreat for White Eagle brothers during which Jenny will explore our links with Pythagoras and his earthly life and teaching as well as his 6

ASTROLOGY White Eagle School of Astrology 'Astrology and the Five Great Laws' White Eagle School of Astrology Annual Gathering Friday 15 to Monday 18 May (residents arrive on Friday evening and may stay until Tuesday morning) Inside the cover of every issue of Stella Polaris will be found printed the Principles of the White Eagle Lodge. These include the statement that life is governed by five spiritual laws: Reincarnation, Cause and Effect, Opportunity, Correspondences, Compensation. In our gathering this year we shall be studying the ways in which the operation of these laws may be perceived astrologically and how that leads to interpreting horoscopes in 'the White Eagle way’. We would particularly encourage students on our courses to attend; however, as always, everyone is welcome! Cost: £60 per day full board, £45 B&B and £8 per meal. White Eagle School of Astrology Correspondence Courses The School offers three fully-tutored correspondence courses in spiritually based astrology: Beginners—takes the student to the stage of basic delineation of a natal chart. Preparatory—for those who have some knowledge of the basics of erecting charts, but require help with interpretation. Advanced—an extended course in three separate modules dealing with more advanced delineation and a whole range of advanced astrological techniques. Visit www.whiteagleastrology.org for further details. 12
CONTACT HEALING White Eagle Contact Healing The basis of the contact healing training in the Lodge rests firmly on the foundation of absent (distant) healing for people. This service has been given since the Lodge was formed in 1936 and both forms of healing have provided support to a large number of people ever since. (Training and information about the absent healing work is given by the absent healing department.) The White Eagle Lodge requires that anyone interested in contact healing training becomes an absent healer for people first, either by becoming a sitter on a group or working as a lone healer for at least a year before applying to become a contact healer. If you are not an absent healer yet but are interested then please contact Melanie Dent at New Lands: melanie@whiteagle.org in the UK, or your local Star Centre in other countries. The three courses described below form the core of our contact healing training programme in the White Eagle method and, we believe, offer a well-grounded path of personal and professional training under the auspices of the White Eagle Wisdom School. Details of the full training programme, which has received formal accreditation by the national standard-setting body, UK Healers, are available from Jan de Vulder at New Lands: jan@whiteagle.org The atmosphere on the courses is friendly and very supportive and the style of the White Eagle training is experiential rather than just theoretical. A network of regional mentors offers ongoing support to healers after the main training course, and includes support for final ‘registered’ status for those who wish. All courses can be retaken by existing healers free of charge. Please note that course fees are set at a level to support each healer’s ongoing training, and this year remain at what is effectively a nominal level. We do not wish any member to be excluded from this training for financial reasons, so please contact Jan, in confidence, if you wish to discuss course costs. We will do all we can to help. 13
CONTACT HEALING Contact Healing Training Course I, Parts 1 and 2 Wednesday 11 (arrivals pm) to Tuesday 17 March (after breakfast). Contact healing can be a beautiful, fulfilling and effective form of service where there is a special inclination to give in this way. Course 1 is split into two parts comprising five days of training in all. Training is given in the technique of contact healing developed under White Eagle’s guidance and conforms to the relevant parts of the national standards set by UK Healers. Some basic physiology is included. The course is fully experiential and some work is done in small groups to ensure individual support and respect for each person’s pace and method of learning. Principles of attunement, the nature of healing and healers’ code of healing and the law are also considered on the course. Because healers will eventually be working directly with members of the public, a letter of sponsorship from a White Eagle group leader or an experienced registered White Eagle healer will be requested. Please contact Jan de Vulder at New Lands if you are not sure about who will sponsor you, and for details of the full training programme for contact healing within the White Eagle Lodge. Cost: Full board £55 per day. This year we are combining Courses II and III in the same time slot: Contact Healing Training Course II Wednesday 7 (arrivals pm) to Monday 12 October (after breakfast). This course consists of three days and is open to White Eagle contact healers with at least four months’ regular experience. It enables the development of wider skills, which in turn help the patient receive the healing. Active participation using prior learning situations is the method of training used on all our courses and mentoring work. We practise with each other to develop helpful listening and communication skills and use case histories to gain greater confidence in the prescription of the healing colours. The course is especially helpful for those taking responsibility for healing patients on their own and those healers wishing to become registered. Other aspects of good practice are also covered, including confidential record keeping. Please write to Jan de Vulder at New Lands for more details. Cost: Full board accommodation £55 per day. 14
CONTACT HEALING Contact Healing Training Course III Wednesday 7 (arrivals pm) to Monday 12 October (after breakfast). This course consists of three days and is open to any White Eagle contact healer who has completed Course I and has at least four to six months’ regular experience of offering contact healing. (It is not necessary to have completed Course II). The course provides greater understanding for the healer of the etheric body, the aura and chakras as taught by White Eagle. It is designed to expand the ways in which the healer can work with this awareness both for the patients and for their own deeper insight, which is part of our commitment to CPPD (Continuing Personal and Professional Development). The course will be experiential as far as possible in the use of the breath, meditation, visualisation, dealing with sensitivity and gaining control. Cost: Full board accommodation £55 per day. Contact Healing Supervisors' Course Friday 14 (arrivals pm) to Monday 17 February (after breakfast). By invitation To fulfil our duty of care towards the public by maintaining standards and codes of practice, in 2010 we established a group of dedicated, experienced healers who are trained to give support and supervision to all our student healers. The training programme aims to increase the multiple skills necessary to help all our contact healers. Ongoing Development and Support for Contact Healers In line with our commitment as a member of UK Healers we ask all contact healers to view their training and development as ongoing. There is a supportive CPPD scheme for registered and non-registered contact healers at whatever stage of experience. Healers are asked to attend a support day either at the Temple, London Lodge or as organised by their own regional centre at least once every two years. This is part of a White Eagle healer’s commitment to offer a high standard of service to the public. 15
LONDON LODGE The London White Eagle Lodge London members of the Lodge are proud to meet in the very centre of London and to welcome you to their home just 100 metres from Trafalgar Square. Here, we occupy the Library in the Westminster Friends’ Meeting House off St Martin's Lane two full days a week: Mondays and Thursdays. We also have meetings less frequently on Saturdays, in the form of a fortnightly ‘Service of Peace’ in the Committee Room and occasional full-day retreats in the Fry Room. A call before visiting is useful unless you would simply like to attend scheduled events. Our Thursday programme is the fullest, but you are also welcome to call on Mondays from around 1.00 pm through to the contact healing service at 2.15 pm. The Thursday programme includes both a 2.15 pm and a 6.00 pm healing service. For all events, unless otherwise advertised, use the library bell at 8 Hop Gardens, London WC2N 4EH, which forms the daytime entrance to the building. Come and enjoy the atmosphere we have built up within the graceful Quaker environment, and a selection of activities which include a very popular discussion mid-afternoon on Thursdays and a Full Moon meditation on Thursday evenings once a month, which is just one of a range of Thursday evening activities. During the day we have earth healing, a quiet meditation, and absent healing groups. A full Group Meditation is held monthly for meditators fully trained in the White Eagle technique. Come to us to learn meditation too (ring Colum on 07912 360041 to enquire). Note that we have periods of recess during and after Christmas, around Easter, and for six weeks in the late summer. In 2020 we hope to begin new traditions around the summer break by offering a short Summer School for new students of the teaching, and some gentle days of quiet reflection and fellowship. For the summer school, see below (the other days will be advertised nearer the time). As well as buses that stop nearby, we have Leicester Square, Charing Cross and Embankment tube stations in easy walking distance, plus Charing Cross for mainline trains and even Waterloo within walking range (or three stops on the tube if preferred). If you’re a visitor to London, combine us with a visit to the National Gallery or Covent 16

STAR CENTER for the AMERICAS White Eagle Star Center for the Americas - St John's Retreat Center A very warm welcome awaits all who visit the Lodge in Texas, Saint John’s Retreat Center. The Center rests on 70 acres of beautiful forested land about 65 miles north of the center of Houston. The gentle land is home to many species of wildlife and in the springtime especially, it is full of wildflowers. There are five climates in the state of Texas, and our East Texas climate is humid sub-tropical; its milder temperatures are from early October until May. The Center has room for 20 guests; each of the ten twin-bedded rooms has its own en suite bathroom. The large dining room serves all who come with delicious vegetarian food, prepared to perfection by David. A chapel with stained glass windows which came from the original place of worship on the land is next to a delightful library full of fascinating books and a cozy fireplace around which to gather in fall and winter. The porch overlooks a magnificent view of the meadow and forest beyond, close to the small salt water pool with jacuzzi jets which invites a dip and viewpoint of the glorious night skies. Along the grassy paths are places for quiet meditation and set into the land is a large seven- fold spiral labyrinth with a central fire pit: a gathering place for group meditations or for a quiet meditative walk. For smaller self catering groups, Meadowview Cottage is available, a mobile home set in a secluded part of the land. Jane Sorbi, Mother of the Americas Lodge, along with the small but very dedicated staff much look forward to welcoming you to their home 'deep in the heart of Texas'! Visitors are welcome for retreats or private visits. Full details of all activities including costs are found on the website: 22

Using the Three Kings Biodynamic preparation, we join together in a simple Ceremony of Blessing for Mother Earth. Each one who attends is asked to bring a blessing of their own to be shared during the Ceremony. (There is of course no charge involved for the Ceremony itself.) The program ends at 4 pm on January 6th, so please make travel arrangements accordingly. Spiritual Science Part Six – Initiation February 20–22 How does initiation show up in our daily lives? What does it really mean? What are the degrees of initiation – and more! Initiation brings to each soul an expansion of spiritual consciousness, an ever-widening realization of the universal life, God’s love, in which each of us lives. Through the depth and breadth of the White Eagle teaching we explore the meaning and outline the journey each one of us must travel. (There is no need to have completed the other segments of the Spiritual Science Series, each is complete in itself.) Path to Light – Beautiful Road Home April 10–15 Life is a continuous journey. This retreat will explore what happens after the passing of the physical body into the real, the natural life; the stages of awakening. These few days merge beautifully with the celebration of Easter and will be an inspiring journey, a realization that there is nothing to fear as we enter into a universal life. The Power of Language – How do we communicate with each other? April 23–25 This weekend will bring thought and understanding to the vibration of our communications with each other, verbally and nonverbally; the effect of speech individually and globally. What are we saying? – How are we saying it? Each word holds a vibration. With White Eagle and the science of neuro-linguistics we will enjoy a weekend of learning positive communion to maximum effect! Animals as our Teachers May 14–19 (Please see description on the web) 23
Healing Through the Ancestors September 18–23 (Please see description on the web) The Astrology of Wellness – Slow down! October 8–10 A prescription for our wellbeing can be shown through the planetary influences under which each one of us lives. This workshop will bring the many ways we can manage our lifestyle; the integrative therapies to help bring peace of mind and heart. There may be a Brothers' Retreat in October. Please keep an eye on the website for more news about this. STAR CENTRE for AUSTRALASIA Green rolling hills, wallabies grazing in the paddock, a whip bird calls with a whistle followed by a crack, the ‘craw, craw’ of the black cockatoos as they feed on the pine cones, the sound of cicadas almost deafening at times, a cobalt blue sky, warm sunshine wrapping itself around you like a snuggly blanket are but a few of the physical attractions you will experience when you visit the Temple of Light and the Star Retreat Centre in Maleny. When people walk into the all-enfolding atmosphere of the Temple many people have commented ‘I have come home’ – a feeling echoed in all White Eagle’s Temples and meeting places.
