HEADLINE SPEAKERS & STAGES In 2018, the LA Travel & Adventure Show provided new, updated content and speakers to engage attendees. Keynote Speakers Included: The Travel Theater, where attendees go for inspiration Samantha Brown and advice from travel celebrities, welcomed back Host, PBS’, Places to Love Samantha Brown, Rick Steves and Pauline Frommer. At the Destination Theater, 17 sessions spanning both show days provided educational workshops based on specific destinations. Rick Steves Travel Writer, Host of Rick Steves Europe On the Savvy Traveler Theater, attendees enjoyed 14 and Travel with Rick Steves sessions dedicated to providing actionable advice on how to travel safer, better, and more efficient. From packing tips and solo travel advice, to budget tips and travel photography, Travel & Adventure Show Phil Keoghan consumers packed the theater each day. New for 2018 Host/Co-Executive Producer The was a presentation by The Points Guy, Brian Kelly, who Amazing Race and Author, No attracted attendees to the show. PROMOTION SUMMARY For the 2018 Travel Show Season, the Marketing Team was tasked with not only increasing attendance, but also increasing the quality of attendees who walked through the show doors. Broadcast Television: The 2018 LA show’s television mix was one of the strongest ever. Between NBC, KTLA and ABC, over 317 commercials ran, complimented with digital ads from each station, resulting in 28.8 million impressions served over a 10 day flight. This resulted in a 7% increase in impressions year over year. Radio: Between KCBS, KNX, KRTH, and the Total Traffic & Weather network (6 stations), over 180 radio spots ran over the span of two and a half weeks. Over 12.9 million radio impressions were served, resulting in a 572% increase from 2017. Out of Home: Strategically placed along freeways in the LA area’s affluent pockets, 5 illuminated static billboards and 3 illuminated posters targeted local commuters. The results? Over 3.1 million digital impressions to qualified prospects that met the Travel & Adventure Show’s demographic. Media Coverage: In the weeks leading up to the event, various print and radio interviews were set up with exhibitors, speakers, and Travel Show Management. FOX and NBC came to the convention center early on Friday morning, while KTLA and the AP came to cover the show on Saturday morning and throughout the day. PROMOTION SUMMARY - CONTINUED FACEBOOK: Within the week leading up to, and including the LA event, The Travel & Adventure Show Facebook advertising campaign targeted LA area travelers, promoting event speakers, sponsors and exhibitors. These posts reached 365,500 users, while creating 405,500 unique Impressions and 28,070 engaged users drawing more attention to the event. TWITTER: By engaging celebrity speakers, local and national bloggers and industry professionals, @TravAdventure created 85.3K impressions. The LA hashtag, #LATravelShow, was used in over 200 posts by over 150 users, reaching over 500,000 users and created over 750K impressions. INSTAGRAM: The #LATravelShow reached over 225,000 Los Angeles Instagram users and created over 370,000 impressions. #LATravelShow was used in over 215 posts throughout the week by the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show attendees, resulting in over 2,500 likes/ video views and over 200 comments.
