ABOUT THE PROGRAM For a fun break after remote learning, the Woodridge Park District’s KIDZ Squad will take on a new look this season for after school care in order to follow CDC, federal, state, and local government guidelines pertaining to disinfecting, social distancing, and group sizes. There will be a designated snacks and BEFORE & AFTER scheduled homework time. Participants can also look forward to arts & crafts, sports play, new friendships, SCHOOL CARE memorable experiences and more! The staff to child ratio will be 1:10 or less and groups will follow all guidelines required to maintain social distancing & will remain static throughout the day. Due to the evolving education plans from the school districts, our pricing allows you to register on a weekly basis. You will be able to register your child(ren) 2 days a week, 3 days a week, 4 days a week or 5 days a week. Registration for each week will close on the Thursday before the start of that upcoming week. IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION KIDZ Squad will utilize an online system for parents and guardians to submit emergency information so we can access critical details like medical needs. (e.g. allergies, medications, etc) or key contact (e.g. legal guardians and other individuals allowed to pick up/drop off a child). The parents/guardian listed as the main contact will receive an email following registration, with directions and a link to complete all required forms through the ePACT Network. The ePACT information must be completed before your child’s first day of KIDZ Squad. ACTIVE ADULTS RULES OF THE ROAD The Rules of the Road Review Course is designed to give drivers, especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities, the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license. WOODRIDGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION SPRING/SUMMER 2021 YOUTH BASEBALL REGISTRATION We would like to start the baseball season in April as we normally do, but we realize we may need to be flexible on start dates depending on the pandemic. In the past, we have held in-person registrations, but because of the recent spikes in COVID cases, we needed a different approach. WAA has added an online registration feature that is now open. Our new online registration system is simple to use, but if you have any issues or questions pleas feel free to contact us. If you prefer, you can mail-in your registration by downloading our mail-in registration form (located on the website). Included in the baseball registration fee is our Raffle Ticket Fundraiser. You can sell the raffle tickets and recoup $100 of your registration cost. Raffle tickets will be handed out to team managers this year to distribute to players in April. We are planning for the Raffle drawing to occur at our June board meeting. We will be looking for managers and coaches at all levels so please volunteer if you are able. Qualified black belt instructors teach proper techniques and monitor practice within a structured teaching environment for students of all ages. WOODRIDGE DANCE PROGRAM The Woodridge Park District dance program is designed to improve grace and flexibility while exposing participants to the beauty and benefits of dance. Dancing is a life skill that also teaches children good posture, grace, rhythm, and coordination. Ballet and Jazz shoes are required. Face coverings must be worn while participating. Recital: All dance classes will perform in the Spring Recital. The Recital date is TBA- once information is available dancers will be notified. WOODRIDGE PARK DISTRICT SPORTS GIRLS SOFTBALL SEASON RUNS APRIL 17 - JUNE 26 The Woodridge Girls’ Softball in-house teams will be joining an in-house league with Burr Ridge, Darien and Westmont. In this league, the furthest field away from Woodridge is about 15 minutes away in Willowbrook. Girls in this program will be divided into 3 leagues: Instructional (6-8 years old), minor (9-10 years old) and junior (11-12 years old). These age requirements are as of January 1, 2021. All registered girls are placed on a team. Participants must register by March 1, 2021. At this level, participants play on age- appropriate nets and use softer volleyballs. Everyone is guaranteed to play an equal amount of time because there is no substitution (substitution is on rotation). Practices are one hour long and held one day per week on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 5-9 PM. Practice times are selected by the volunteer coaches who will contact players following the coaches meeting in March. Scrimmages are played once a week and will take place between 11:30 AM-4:30 PM on Saturdays. All players must wear gym shoes and will receive team t-shirts. Anyone interested in helping as a coach or assistant coach should mark that down on the registration form. All participants must preregister, including those whose parents are volunteer coaches. Grades may be combined if there isn’t enough enrollment in one grade. Face coverings must be worn while participating.
