VAFP Makes Donation in Effort to Assist Fellow Family Physicians in Puerto Rico The VAFP is pleased to report that a donation of $1,000 was made from the chapter to assist in the disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico. As you all know, Hurricane Maria devastated the country and government officials estimate that parts of Puerto Rico will be without power for many months to come. The Indiana Academy of Family Physicians reached out to other constituent chapters of the AAFP and asked for monetary donations to be used to purchase generators, communication devices and other desperately needed healthcare supplies. The purchases went directly to family physicians in Puerto Rico so they could continue to care for those patients most in need. Members of the Puerto Rico Academy of Family Physicians were on hand to personally accept and deliver supplies, and 65146will Halfcontinue to do Pg Ad_Layout 1 so as long 6/25/14 9:33asAM they are1needed.
