ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY AND OUR COMMITMENT TAFE SA acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to their Ancestors, Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. TAFE SA is committed to honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationship to the land and waters and seas of South Australia and acknowledges their rich contribution to society. We will do this by implementing a Cultural Protocol Policy and imbedding Cultural Respect Training for all staff and students meet their cultural competence course requirements. We commit to engaging with Aboriginal communities and people to support, develop, and empower them and their communities. OUR STORY This artwork is a metaphor to represent a map of South Australia showing TAFE SA campus’ as waterholes represented by the larger circles in the artwork with the elements of land sea and river through colour reflecting the 8 regions that span our state. The horseshoe shapes symbols around the waterholes represent Aboriginal and non - Aboriginal students and educators meeting together in a place of respecting diversity and Artist background: Karen Briggs sharing each other’s cultures.
