                                          April 8, 1947 - July 14, 2021

Reba Jane Anderson of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, surrounded by family and
friends at the age of 74. As a life-long resident of North Texas, Reba was born in McKinney, Texas on April 8, 1947, to
Amon (Crook) and Iva Lucile (Drury) Anderson.

Education was an important factor in Reba’s life. She attended Chambersville Schools from 1953-1960. Then she
transferred to the McKinney Independent School District in 1960 in the eighth grade to L.A. Scott Junior High School
where she was honored at L.A. Scott Junior High School in 1961 as its valedictorian. In 1965, Reba graduated from
McKinney High School.

During her high school years, a career in pharmacy began to intrigue Reba. She worked part-time at the Wysong
Hospital Pharmacy in McKinney, and that experience solidified her interest in that particular career path. She attended
the University of North Texas for two years then was accepted at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin,
where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree in 1970. She then moved to Dallas but commuted to
work full-time in McKinney at the Wysong Pharmacy. Eventually, wanting to live and work in the same city, Reba started a
career path in hospital pharmacy in the Baylor Hospital system in Dallas, which later became Baylor Scott & White.
During her 45-year career, she served in various managerial and directorship positions in RHD Memorial Hospital and
then returned to the Baylor Scott& White System. In the latter part of her career, she also held management positions in
the retail network of Minyard’s Pharmacies. She retired in 2015.

Priorities were important to Reba. She believed in a life of service: first to God, then to family, and thirdly, to her many
friends. In fact, she considered her friends to be extended family. She was a member of Walnut Hill Church, Dallas,
where she was quite active in several capacities and served as chairperson of their missions’ program. Reba also
continued her life-long relationship with Chambersville United Methodist Church in McKinney where she was very active
from her young years to well into adulthood.

Reba is survived by her sister-in-law, Retta Anderson; one niece and three nephews, Greg Anderson and wife, Tonya of
McKinney, Dan Anderson and wife, Joanie of Fairview, Alecia Van Poppel and husband, Todd of Argyle, and Jeff
Anderson of McKinney; nine great nieces and nephews, Carter, Austin, Madelyn, Emiley, and Wyatt Anderson; Courtney
Anderson Inge and husband, Hunter; Halee, Tate and Riley Van Poppel; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dean Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in
Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Reba’s obituary page by clicking on the
following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/reba-jane-anderson. After the service, the recorded live stream will be
available for viewing at the same link location. Interment will follow at Chambersville Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-
Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to (1) American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City,
OK 73123. (2) North Dallas Shared Ministries, 2875 Merrell Road, Dallas, TX 75229. (3) the newly established Reba
Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund, McKinney Education Foundation, 510 Heard Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.

Memorials
Reba was a wonderful human being. We grew up together in happier, more
pretty times, and were class mates during the wonder years. She was always
the smartest (and wisest) person in the room. I had not seen her for many
years prior to our 50th class reunion, but was glad to discovery that she was
still the wise, elegant lady she had always been. My deepest sympathies to her
family.
MARSHALL SEARCY, AUGUST 5, 2021

Reba lived life to the fullest, always smiling, always full of fun & she influenced
every life she touched. She left her mark here on earth & she will be an asset
to heaven.
SUE DRURY, AUGUST 5, 2021

I’m very sorry to hear of Reba’s passing. I knew of her through her cousin,
Billie Sue Anderson, and my grandmother, MaeBeth Bryan White. From the
time I was very young, I would hear them tell about how bright and kind she
was, and how proud they were of her career in pharmacy. Our families ties to
Chambersville from way back when create a kinship that lives on. May your
hearts be comforted in this time of sadness.
ANNE STAPLETON SKRABANEK, JULY 31, 2021
I'm her neighbor in North Dallas and I missed her a lot on her front yard, every
time I passed by walking. She always had a friendly beautiful smile. But she's
in heaven now! My condolences to her family and friends! Chris&F.
CHRIS, JULY 22, 2021

I met Reba when I was 5 years old, in 1973. I was fortunate to be around her
for many, many years, as she was a special friend to my mother who passed
away in February. Mom always spoke on how kind Reba was, always. I can
attest to that. She always treated me with kindness and love and made me feel
she truly cared about me and what I was doing in my life. I have a vivid
memory of visiting Reba’s apartment in Dallas when I was very young. I
thought she was so cool and I was so impressed that she was taking piano
lessons. On her piano was the music to the song, “The Candy Man Can.” I
know she adored her family. Anytime I was around she spoke of her nieces
and nephews and their accomplishments. She was a very special lady.

and fabulous food. Smile and remember those happy times with her!
BONNIE KIRSCHENBAUM, JULY 20, 2021

My heartfelt sympathies are with you for the loss of your loved one. I am a
friend of Bettye Odel’s and I know what her lifelong friendship with Reba meant
to both of them. My prayers for comfort are with all who loved her. Eileen
EILEEN TURNER, JULY 20, 2021

To all the family and friends of Reba. I am saddened to hear of Reba's
passing. I had the pleasure of serving with her on the Christ's Foundry United
Methodist Mission Covenant Board for several years. Reba was an inspiration
to us all, with her smile, insights, and leadership. I know her room in Heaven
was prepared at her birth. Such a kind and giving servant. She will be missed.
MATT HOPKINS, JULY 20, 2021

As a relatively new member of Walnut Hill Church, I did not know Reba well,
but had the privilege of working with her on a few church committees. I was
always impressed by how well regarded she was by members of the church
who did know her. I will remember here easy smile when I did speak to her.
She was an important part of our mission and outreach ministries and she
leaves both a legacy of service and a hole for us to fill. My prayers go out to
the family.
JOHN OZMUN, JULY 19, 2021

I was lucky enough to wok with Reba Jane and got a chance to see what a
great woman she was. I will miss her dearly. remembeing al the good times
and years we shared at RDH.
CCRISTINA ARCILA, JULY 19, 2021

Reba's positive outlook reached across family, friends, colleagues and in
precepting pharmacists-to-be. What a loss for us here on earth, but what
'fingerprints' she has left with everyone she encountered!
JULIA SIVINSKI, JULY 19, 2021

I was very deeply saddened to hear about Reba's passing. She was always so
kind and gracious towards me. I knew Reba for about 14 years. I first met her
when I worked with her at Minyard Pharmacy, and the last day of operation
was 11/11/2011, Veterans Day, and every year on Veterans Day, we would be
sure to contact each other. Reba often spoke lovingly about her family and
would happily share memorable events she had with them. She was always so
encouraging, and during some of our conversations, if something negative
came up, she was quick and witty to put a positive spin on it, and we would
both end up laughing! I sent her some basil seeds in May just I had done last
year. She sent a text after receiving them that she will be watching for those
little miracles. Every year, as the plants come up, I will also surely remember
my dear friend. I feel very blessed to have known precious Reba, and I will
greatly miss her joyful presence. My heartfelt prayers for Reba and the
Anderson family.
MARIA RANCAPERO, JULY 18, 2021

Reba, I am grateful I got to know you through Bonnie. I always treasure the
memories of our pharmacy girls get togethers in Breckenridge even though
they weren’t often enough. You were always so supportive whatever I was
going through. You truly had a heart of gold. Rest in peace my friend.
PHYLLIS KIDDER, JULY 18, 2021

Reba I will FOREVER miss you and your smiling face. Your encouraging
words. Your happy and warm heart. Your loyalty. The way you always looked
out for your own. More than a boss at Minyard's, more than a mentor to me,
your were a great and loving friend. I am very grateful that life put you in my
lost path. Reba YOU and your faith in me are the reason I worked towards my
GED. You are the reason I worked toward my Pharmacy tech license, which
has been my career for 15 years. You are the reason that my work ethic is
"check, check, double check" and "look up, look down and all around." Most
importantly in life, "when in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and
shout" and then I would call or text you to talk about it. You always had
discerning insight for me when times were tough. And amazing tales to share
when times were great. I have learned over the years to travel and enjoy life
because I learned that from you. I will forever cherish your stories and all of
our Christmas dinners up until the last one even way after Minyard's ended in
2011. More than a life-changing friend, you were like family to me. Thank you
for all that you believed in me. I LOVE YOU REBA and will always have you in
my heart.

IRMA ELIZAHBET AVILA, JULY 18, 2021

Reba and I met and volunteered at the North Dallas Shared Ministries. From
the moment we met, I knew we'd be good friends. She was always upbeat and
a ray of sunshine. We would take our lunch break together, I'd bring cheese
and crackers and she'd bring the diet Coke. It was our time to chat about
everything especially politics as we shared similar views. If something was
troubling me, she was the consumate therapist, offering great advice and we'd
end up laughing. It's so hard to believe she has passed away. She was so full
of life. I will miss her so much but will treasure our times together. Rest in
peace dear friend.
SUSAN MAGEE, JULY 18, 2021

I saw her picture and begin to cry. What a lovely soul. She will be dearly
missed. I met Reba Jane tagging along with Louis Tobola on Christmas Day,
1999. We dropped by her house and she enfolded us into the tail end of her
family Christmas celebration. It was the very beginning for me. Through my
friendship with the Tobola’s I joined a family and that family included Reba.
Over the years we met again and again, not only at each Tobola celebration:
birthdays, holidays, major events, but also at hard times and good. Reba was
always a steady, clearheaded presence, bringing laughter and strength, a
sister, a friend. One dear time I will always be grateful for, she showed up to
help me through a night while Louis was in the hospital. Always there, stepping
in with a quiet friendship to offer support. I have read the memorials above,
you know what I am talking about. She was treasured by her family. A niece,
aunt, sister to many, mother to some, friend to all.
JANE LADIK, JULY 18, 2021

I have not seen Reba in years, but she was always a striking example of a
professional pharmacist when I was in my formative years, learning the ropes
of the profession. I am saddened by her passing, but at the same time, grateful
for the work she did to benefit younger pharmacists, as well as the lives of
countless patients. The world has lost a star. Rest in Peace, Reba.
JACQUE BOREL, JULY 18, 2021

So sudden and so sad! It is a great win for Heaven and a real loss for us! Will
miss you!
NANCY FIASEE, JULY 17, 2021

Reba, you left us too soon. I always smile when I think about the wonderful and
long lasting friendship between you and my mom. The many many morning
walks the two of you had around the park. When my mom came home one
morning I asked "how was the walk" and she laughed and said "we decided to
go to McDonalds for coffee instead". Reba, you were always up for something
fun, always a "yes, that sounds great let's go". You will be greatly missed. The
world is less bright without you. Love you,
MARY ROYALS, JULY 17, 2021

I will cherish the memories I have with my sweet friend Reba. She was
someone you could always count on and her loyalty was like no other. She was
the voice of reason and would give me great advice when I needed it. We
loved trying out new restaurants and would sit for hours talking and laughing
until they practically kicked us out. We would always laugh about the time we
went to a $$$$ steakhouse and accidentally left a 40% tip. We blamed it on
the wine and not our math skills. Reba was truly one of a kind with a heart of
gold. I am so fortunate to call her my friend. I will miss you dearly Reba.
SHARON STERMER, JULY 17, 2021

Reba- or “Rosie”, as I named her when I was just 3, was my mother's (Carolyn
Tobola) best friend from college, and my Godmother. Although my mother,
father and I moved to Colorado when I was just one year old, Carolyn and
Reba talked on average, 2-3 times a week over the course of my life. True to
form, as they met as college freshman roommates, my mother spent the final
month of Rosie’s life at her side, a roommate, a friend, a sister, in her home.
As I grew up, I was an only child with no cousins. So Rosie was family. She
was also a woman I looked up to. She never asked me “who are you dating”,
but rather “what are your professional goals”. We visited her twice a year in her
Dallas home, and I spent many summers with her. She was the one who rode
the big rollercoasters with me at Six Flags and took me to get my ears pierced
when I was 10. Always gracious, Rosie was always a “yes” woman to any
childhood request I had; and later, she was always giving of her time as I
talked through my challenges in getting my PhD, facing an MS diagnosis at
age 27, and the excitement of meeting my husband Mike Mauro. Rosie and I
also shared a love of all things beautiful: hair, makeup, jewelry, manicures and
pedicures were our fancy. She showed me I could be feminine and strong, fun
loving and career driven, independent and dedicated, loving and firm. As a
private joke between my mom Carolyn and Rosie, she was my “real mother”
(since we shared so many similarities). So Rosie, momma, my “real” mother
from another- I will forever live in your spirit of generosity, faith, love and fun.
This Sunday, we are taking my little girl, Nicole to get her ears pierced in your
honor. Nicole said she wanted “heart earrings” which I know you’d approve of.
“Well don’t you just look so pretty today”, I know is what you’d say. With love,
Adria

Obituary was so well written. I didn’t know that much about Reba’s life. We
were class mates in Jr High and High School. So happy to hear about her
accomplishments and dedication to God. So sorry to hear about her passing.

I am so sorry to hear about Reba. I loved visiting with her when we were
neighbors with Dean and Retta. Prayers lifted for all her family and friends.
DENICE BURNSIDE GREEN, JULY 17, 2021

Reba Jane was my first and best friend. Until my family moved to Allen in
1960 we were pretty much joined at the hip for all sorts of things. We were in
Sunday school classes together from Bill Billings, Helen Starnes, Tootsie
Covington and others. Reba had always read the most scriptures. We played
cowboys together. She was Gene Autry to my Roy Rogers. We unknowingly
drained the well that Crook had just paid to have filled. We were playing mud
pies by the chicken house. Crook was so angry but Lucille stepped in and sent
us to escape out the bedroom window. Always the kindest and sweetest
person. In the last few years, we would call each other following elections
knowing our discussion did not have to be filtered both being Democrats. Just
like our strong, independent mothers as Reba always noted. While our lives
took us in different directions our conversations picked up where they left off.
Mine and Gene's hearts go out the family and friends and those who saw and
spoke to her. Their lives were definitely touched by one of God's angels set
here on earth.
JANICE ROGERS ADCOCK, JULY 17, 2021

Reba, I will miss you so very, very much. I am so grateful for our wonderful 42
year friendship; the 17 years of shared morning walks around the park; trips to
the lake and dinners that lasted all evening with so much to catch up on. You
have been the most wonderful friend in the world. I still have the pillow you
gave me with this message: "Friends are like stars. Sometimes you can't see
them, but you always know they are there". Hope you are sharing a glass of
wine with Jean. l love you,
