MARGHERA SCALO A STATION OF THE NATIONAL RAILWAY NETWORK MARGHERA SCALO MARGHERA Scalo is a cargo station located on the national network. 1.1
VENICE PORT RAILWAY NETWORK PARCO BREDA All terminals in Porto PARCO NUOVO serving the north-east Marghera are equipped industrial area with railway sidings serving the west-south industrial area The rail infrastructure servicing the port area of Marghera, about 45km, consists essentially of: - the freight station of MARGHERA SCALO (with its exchange track and reception and departure siding); - the fan of sidings of Parco Breda (serving the north-east industrial MARGHERA SCALO STATION area); Arrival and departure (12 tracks) - the fan of sidings of Parco Nuovo from/to main network and (serving the west-south industrial exchange (17 tracks) from/to area); commercial area - Raccordo Base, branching from the station of Venezia-Mestre; Legenda - railway sidings , with tracks and Port Railway infrastructure sidings , within each area of the port. 1.2
VENEZIA MARGHERA SCALO STATION New Venezia Marghera Scalo Freight Station capacity : Railway Undertakings stop -Up to 50 trains per day and start traction services -Train lenght up to 700 m from FASCIO BASE Exchange sidings (FASCIO RIORDINO) Reception and departure sidings (FASCIO BASE) New exchange sidings (FASCIO OVEST) The station at which stops are made consists essentially of three fans of sidings: -“Fascio Riordino”, dedicated to the exchange track and stabling of a train for customs clearance from/to crossing; -“Fascio Base”, equipped for the operations of reception and departure (trains up to 750m length) and with static and dynamic Weighing wagons service; - “Fascio Ovest”, consisting of 4 tracks with a length of 390 m, with functions similar to set of sorting sidings. 2.1

PORT SHUNTING COMPANY In the whole port area, ERF Esercizio Raccordi Ferroviari Company operates shunting since 1973. In order to ensure the correctness and safety of operations in both the base track and industry track, ERF is the only operator in charge of the shunting in port of Venice areas. The service shunting at Venezia Marghera Scalo station is provided h 24. THE NEW PORT OF VENICE Venice Marghera Scalo Onshore Container Terminal 90ha Offshore Terminal Terminal offshore 1.04 – 1.35 million of TEUs Terminal onshore 1.48 – 1.89 million of TEUs Traffic to Onshore (0.94 – 1.35 mln of TEUs) MoS Terminal (Operational from 31/05/2014) 36 hectar, 2 docks with 4 , a logistic platform (100.000 mq), open and parking area (40.000 mq), 5.1 RO-PORT MoS 2 track directly linked with Marghera Scalo.
RAILWAY CAPACITY OF FUSINA RO PORT MOS • Fusina railway yard: composed by 4 sidings up to 650m. Sidings will be served by gantry cranes. • Marghera Scalo station is actually able to manage the foreseen traffic due to fusina operations. • The total round trip time (Marghera Scalo – Fusina) is about 4 hours. • The unloading plus loading time per train is about 2/3 hours. • Whit the current infrastructure it is possible to serve up to 6 pair of trains a day. • With the railway infrastructure upgrading (completed within the beginning of 2018) it will be possible to serve up to 10 pairs of trains a day 5.2
