By Darryn Hamilton O ne year ago, Independent Senior Sales Director Candice Loeppky implemented a powerful booking plan to boost her business, and she’s never looked back. Candice is proof that new faces really can take you places! “A focus on booking has transformed my business,” says Candice. “Sales come hand-in-hand with booking. Increase your bookings to help increase your sales!” We recently caught up with Candice for a Q&A to learn more about her success. Check it out! Q: How does your booking plan work? Q: Why is a follow-up communication so important? A: This plan begins with 30 names. From these initial 30 leads, A: It’s not the customer’s responsibility to contact us. What was the deciding moment? “I knew I wanted to be an Independent Sales Director after six months with the Company, when I realized that I was putting lots of energy in a job I liked but in which I could never advance. So I decided to put lots of energy in a job that I liked and which would allow me to move up the ranks. This is what sparked my decision. My Sales Director and my colleagues at Mary Kay saw me as a Sales Director and encouraged me to take the plunge. I said to myself that all those people saw something in me that I did not see. So, I decided to go commit to it 100% to see if I could live up to their expectations.” What attracted you the most about becoming an Independent Sales Director? “What I liked the most about becoming a Sales Director was to be able to work at making my own dream come true, which wasn’t the case when I was a salaried employee. So, shortly after one year with the Company, I earned the use of my first Pink Cadillac, the ultimate trophy on wheels. It’s something that I would have never imagined in my life before!” What advice would you give to a Star Team Builder who wants to submit her Independent Sales Director-in-Qualification (DIQ) Commitment Form? “The advice I would give is to take a look at their teams; they are made up of women who they have inspired and who have followed them because they trusted them. This alone is a great proof of their leadership. They have to understand that to qualify for the status of Sales Director is only a continuation of the excellent work they are already doing; they have everything to get there.” What are your top 5 tips for moving up (the career path)? 1. Set clear goals and visualize carefully all the steps that need to be taken to reach them. 2. Be very disciplined and stick as much as possible to a pre-established work schedule. 3. Develop a strong control of personal emotions so as not to get distracted from the goals. 4. Seize every opportunity to share the business opportunity, even if at the beginning it does not present itself. 5.
