WELCOME It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the inaugural Queensland Touch Football QLD State Cup, an event we hope will become a regular “must do” on the Touch Football calendar. Our three-day carnival will bring together more than 1,500 players, referees and offi- cials and 27 Affiliates from across Queensland who will showcase the game of touch football. Affiliate teams will attend from Brisbane, South West Queensland, South Queensland, Central Queensland, Sunshine Coast, as well as, a number of teams from North Queensland. I want to thank them for their ongoing support and commitment to the event. This event provides us with an opportunity to not only identify our best talent in the state in the lead up to the 2020 State of Origin but to celebrate our great sport of touch football. The following guiding principles have guided the planning and delivery of the 2019 QLD State Cup - • Provide a safe and enjoyable participation event for all involved including match officials, players, coaches, team officials and spectators, • Provide an occasion for all Queensland Affiliates to come together to celebrate the sport of touch, and • Provide an opportunity to identify talent for further representative opportunities; including regional, state and permit opportunities. I sincerely thank City of Gold Coast for their support in hosting QLD State Cup in Coo- mera for the first year. A huge thanks also to the Northern Gold Coast Touch Associa- tion and Coomera Crushers Rugby Union Club for their assistance and support! I would like to acknowledge the support of our QTF ‘Event Partners’ including, fisiocrem, DSA Images, XXXX, Optus and our ‘All of Game’ partners Inferno, Steeden, All Sports Travel, College of Sport and Fitness and Eckoo for supporting the event and Queensland Touch Football.
