MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS NEW ZEALAND SCHOLARSHIPS The Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is able to host scholars as part of the New Zealand Scholarships Programme through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFAT). The MFAT New Zealand Scholarships purpose is to boost the skills, knowledge and training of successful applicants so that they can increase capacity to contribute to important areas in their home countries. The citizens of developing countries who would like to study in New Zealand at SIT, are able to apply for these scholarships. ACCOMMODATION The SIT apartments are made up of 62 brand new units and 11 older style motel units SIT Apartments include: Rent structure: ª Furnished single and double room Single Student sharing a room $120 per week per person options Single student not sharing $205 per week ª Each apartment includes kitchenette Couple $240 per week and bathroom Couple with child sharing room $245 per week Family unit $350 per week ª Communal laundry - washing machine $2 and dryer $4 Each student will be required to pay a $300 deposit and 4 weeks rent in advance. ª Electricity and internet is included in New international students will get a welcome pack the rent which includes: 1 set of sheets, pillowcase, 1 pillow, mattress protector, duvet, towels, face cloths and ª Only a short walk to SIT, supermarkets a food parcel for first breakfast.
