Spring Art Show at Anita Purves Nature Center Save the Birds, Save the Earth–Drawings by Lynn Hawkinson Smith Show Dates: February 5 – April 24, 2022 Opening Reception: Saturday, February 19, 1-3pm Artist Statement: I believe that when we love something we take care of it. My work shows, up close, the beauty of the birds around us. Everyone sees birds, but they can’t get close enough to look them in the eye; to see the variety of patterns, colors, and textures in their feathers; to see the individual. After you know a bird, you care about it. You care that it lives the way it should. You care that it has clean air, clean water, good food, and a safe home. When you love birds, you save birds. When you save birds, you save all of us, because we need the same things. Save the Birds, Save the Earth. pipapo & the UPD!
