Welcome to East Gwillimbury!
One of the fastest growing regions in Canada, East Gwillimbury is
an agricultural community of villages connected by forest and
farms, making it a seamless blend of heritage and innovation. It
includes the beautiful small towns of Sharon, Queensville, Holland
Landing and Mt. Albert.
Located throughout East Gwillimbury are an abundance of local
farms, cafes and restaurants, nature trails and parks, small
businesses, farmer’s markets, sports facilities, and hidden gems
that encourage everyone to visit, learn, shop and enjoy!
In this Ultimate EG Day Trip Guide, you will learn about 27
locations in East Gwillimbury that are open to the public and have
proper COVID-19 safety protocols in place so that each be visited
and enjoyed responsibly.
From lavender fields to poutine stands, to secret hiking trails and
pick-your-own berry farms, there is a little something for everyone
found in this guide. The day trip can be enjoyed solo, with a
partner, or entire family!
Please read over the entire guide thoroughly as to best prepare for
your day of fun filled adventure in East Gwillimbury.

This day trip guide can be used anytime between
June - October.
It can be used any day of the week, but due to COVID-19,
opening hours and dates may change at any time.
We strongly encourage you to research each location to
ensure they will be open when you plan to visit.
What to bring with you on your day trip:
1) A vehicle with a full tank of gas
2) Weather appropriate apparel
3) Good walking shoes
4) Some form of GPS (ie. Google Maps)

When can I go on this day trip?
This trip can be used from Monday – Sunday between June to
October. However, we strongly recommend that you research
the locations you plan on visiting prior to your departure. Due
to COVID-19, any of the locations may change their operating
hours to reflect the current climate.
What time should we leave?
We recommend leaving your house anytime between
9:00am – 10:00am.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, some of the stops in this itinerary are not open
to pets, so please leave your furry friend at home just for the
day.
How many people can I bring?
We recommend bringing up to 4 people. Some of the stops in
this guide have a maximum capacity of 4 people per
seating/service area.
How long will each stop take?
Each stop can be enjoyed anywhere from 30 minutes to 2
hours.FARM EXPERIENCES Rose Family Farm A beautiful family farm that offers pick-your-own berries and produce (strawberry season starts early July!). The farm store also has fresh produce, jams, baked goods and fruit to purchase and enjoy. Hungry? Be sure to treat yourself to their hand-cut fries and oh-so-yummy poutine that are available on weekends. Reservation Required? Albert, Brooks Farms is the hottest place to bring the family, and they were just recently featured in the spring/ summer issue of the LCBO’s Food & Drink magazine! They offer a variety of pick-your-own berries and produce, have a fully stocked farm store and a Barnyard Playground for the kids, which has a $10 admission. FARM EXPERIENCES Niemi Family Farm The Niemi Family Farm is a favourite local stop year-round for their freshly baked breads and desserts, flowers, produce, home decor, and more. Follow them on social media to be kept up to date on the many seasonal events and vendor markets they host! Reservation Required? No. Location: 18463 ON-48, Mt. The farm also offers seasonal pick-your-own strawberries in mid-June to July. If you have kids, they will absolutely love the Farmland activities and animals too! Reservation Required? FARM EXPERIENCES Blooms Garden Market This brand new garden market just opened in 2021 and is already the ultimate spot to grab seasonal blooms and garden decor. Shop their extensive selection of perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, planters, succulents, tropical plants, trees and shrubs, vegetables, herbs and colourful chimeneas. Holland Landing Prairie Provincial Nature Park
Did you know that Holland Landing is home to a Provincial Park? The gorgeous
Holland Landing Prairie Provincial Park is a hidden gem known only to locals and
offers many easy-hiking and cycling trails to enjoy. Hiking trails range from 1km to
6kms and parking is free.

North Tract York Regional Forest Trail
Just a couple minutes away from Niemi Family Farm is one of York Region’s most
loved forests that has both easy and challenging hiking paths ranging from 1km to

Shawneeki Golf
Set in the countryside of Sharon, this 18-hole golf course winds around the Black

Nokiidaa Trail
“Nokiidaa” is an Ojibwa term meaning “walking together” – and this family friendly
hiking trail is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. The scenic trail links three
communities together: East Gwillimbury, Newmarket and Aurora, and runs along the
East Holland River. The trail can be enjoyed by foot or bike and parking is free.

Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum
Located in the heart of Sharon, The Sharon Temple is a museum that was
designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1990. The property is comprised
of 8 distinctive heritage buildings and dwellings and houses 6,000 artifacts. The
