SPECIAL CLASSES Class 402. BROOKSIDE TRIBUTE TO THE DISNEYLAND DERBY Fences 2’0/2’3/2’6 Entry Fee: $100 Entry deadline is 5:00pm the day preceding the class. The order of go will then be drawn. Entries made after this deadline, if accepted, will be charged a $10 Post Entry Fee and will be required to go first at their height in the order. Scratches at any time up until the start of the class will be allowed and will receive a refund of the Entry Fee minus a $25 Scratch Fee. Open to junior and amateur riders who have competed or will compete in at least two classes over fences in the Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup, Pre Child / Adult or Low Child / Adult Hunter sections, Jumper or Equitation sections at this show AND will not compete in any classes over 2’6 at this show. If, as a rider, you competed in a listed qualifying class but then also jump over 2’6 at this show before or after this class, you are ineligible. If you show in this class, then fail to compete in at least two qualifying classes or compete in any classes over 2’6 after, you will be disqualified and forfeit any winnings. NO HAUL-INS PERMITTED JUST TO GO IN THIS CLASS. To be shown over a single round course of at least nine (9) fences at the proper height for each section, with at least one option fence worth two bonus points each. The option fence(s) may be slightly higher in height and/or the same height but more difficult to negotiate. Course will consist of both hunter classic and handy hunter style lines, turns and jumps. Natural obstacles and a trot fence may be included. Riders may show as many horses as they wish in this class. PRIZES! 1st - Receive 2 tickets to Disneyland and $100 travel allowance, pad 2nd - Will receive 2 tickets to Disneyland, pad 3rd - Will receive 1 ticket to Disneyland 4th-8th - Will receive special Disney themed prizes. Class 401. $5,000 BROOKSIDE HUNTER DERBY 3’ Fences 3’ Entry Fee $200 Entry deadline is 5:00pm the day preceding the class. The order of go will then be drawn. Horses must have competed in at least two other hunter classes over fences, prior to or after, at the same show. Failure to do so will result in disqualification with all earnings forfeited. NO HAUL-INS PERMITTED JUST TO GO IN THIS CLASS. Riders may show as many horses as they wish in this class. Class will be held as a two round hunter derby. The first round will be a regular hunter classic course consisting of at least ten (10) fences at 3’0 in height. The top 12 entries will return for a second round over a handy hunter course consisting of at least eight (8) fences at 3’0 in height with at least two (2) option fences at 3’3 to 3’5 in height. Two judges shall sit together and throw one score. Scores from both rounds will be added together to determine the placings. In addition to the regular score, judges may add bonus points in each round as follows: for each higher option fence taken, one point shall be added to the score. Horses entered in this class will NOT be required to jog for soundness. Any unsoundness during the competition will be reflected in the scores from the judges. Formal attire requested. Proper attire required. Winners to ride for awards. Trophy and Ribbon to 1st Place - Ribbons and prize money awarded through 8th Place. $5,000 Prize Money divided as follows: 30%, 20%, 14%, 10%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%. Special awards will also be presented for the highest placing Junior and Amateur riders. At least 10 entries are required to run this class. If there are less than 10 entries at 5:00pm the day preceding the class or anytime up to the start of the class, management reserves the right to cancel the class. NO HAUL-INS ALLOWED TACK WAREHOUSE EQUITATION SERIES ($1,000 Tack Warehouse Gift Certificate) All riders in all age groups and open equitation classes at all Brookside shows will receive points towards a series year end $1,000 gift certificate to Tack Warehouse to be presented at the Brookside Fall Finale Horse Show.

JUNIOR EQUITATION RIDERS Qualifying classes for the “Premier Equitation Cup Championship,” held at the WEC, will be offered at all Brookside/Let’s Show events. Riders will need to place in at least two qualifying classes from December 1, 2021 through November 31, 2022. This prestigious event will be held in February 2023 and features a new car as the winner’s prize as well as $100,000 in trainer bonus awards. The trainer bonus is awarded as follows: Winning trainer $40,000, Second $30,000, third $20,000 and Wild-Card trainer $10,000 (Wild-Card trainer will be drawn from all trainers whose students did not place in the ribbons). NSBA “Smart” Program Make sure you sign your juniors up for the “Smart” Program. There is a one time sign up fee of $25. This program awards money for every ribbon won by the junior in an NSBA approved class. In 2021 every ribbon won was worth $56 deposited into an account that will be paid to them when they turn 18. They can spend it any way they see fit. 6
