WHY SUPPORT PRATHAM NOW Over the last several months, we have all witnessed the impact of Covid-19 in India devastating families and communities. When the second COVID-19 surge hit India in late April, the country went into lockdown and schools that had barely reopened after a year, shuttered again. During this period, Pratham stepped up to provide urgent relief by distributing much needed oxygen concentrators across 24 Indian states, and providing 20,000+ communities with the knowledge and means to cope with the pandemic. We are now focusing on getting children ready for school after an 20-month hiatus, and to stem the steep learning loss that has occurred. As communities and schools reopen, Pratham will be needed more than ever to rekindle education and learning. Help us ensure that the pandemic does not rob India's children of their right to an education. LEND YOUR SUPPORT TO IMPROVE CHILDREN’S LEARNING OUTCOMES AND THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN INDIA. PRATHAM NATIONAL VIRTUAL EVENT THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2021: AN EVENING OF REFLECTION AND HOPE Pratham events, traditionally hosted in-person across the U.S., are premier events for our supporters. Attendees include philanthropists, corporate executives and Indophiles, all with a personal commitment to improving education for underprivileged children in India. In 2020, all events were canceled due to the pandemic. Pratham's first National Virtual Gala last year brought together more than 1,100 attendees for a highly successful event which raised more than $2 million, enabling learning for more than 600,000 children in India during the lockdown period. This year with all in-person benefits on hold due to the Delta variant, we invite you to this special virtual event 'An Evening of Reflection and Hope' featuring a conversation with Fareed Zakaria, CNN Host and The Washington Post Columnist, Dr. Rukmini Banerji, Pratham CEO and other special guests about the post-pandemic world.
