PO ST THEAT R E C OM PA N Y The mission of the Post Theatre Company is twofold: to provide a production laboratory, which approaches as closely as possible the conditions of a working professional theater; and to present exceptional live theatre. The program is among the top theatre training programs in the nation. Acting students receive a broad range of training, which includes traditional and non- traditional theatre practices. LIU Post is one of the only undergraduate programs in the country to offer Suzuki training—a rigorous physical discipline designed to increase an actor’s focus and concentration—as part of its core curriculum. Graduates of the program are strong theatre artists who can meet the challenges of this rapidly changing and multi-faceted field.

Sammie Resnick presents a piece that will explore the use of silence as a theatrical tool in relation to trauma and healing. THE 2020 VIRGIL J. LEE ALUMNI NEW PLAY WORKSHOP February 14 at 7:30 p.m. & February 15 – 16 at 3 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. | Rifle Range Theatre A workshop production of a new play(s) written by alumni of the Post Theatre Company. This series gives current students an opportunity to be part of the development of new work, and a link to the professional artists who have graduated from PTC, and provides alumni with an opportunity to develop and produce new work. to look at the crazy world we live in, celebrating, life, love, and the fighting spirit they’re known for. Additionally, don’t miss this versatile group of performers in Tilles pre-show cabarets in the Tilles Atrium! MEASURE FOR MEASURE By William Shakespeare February 28 – March 1 & March 5 – 8 | Little Theatre Mainstage | All shows 7:30 p.m. except Sunday 3 p.m. matinees on March 1 & 8 Sexual freedom is alive and well in Vienna, and the Duke appoints Angelo to reinstate the city’s virtue. But deception and hilarity ensues when Angelo succumbs to the pleasure of power, and abuses he commits in the name of righteousness are revealed. While in Shakespeare’s day, all the roles were played by men, the PTC asks what happens when we turn Shakespeare’s classic around and only the Duke and Angelo are played by men? All too relevant in the wake of the #MeToo movement, the PTC sheds new light on this dark comedy. SONNETS FOR AN OLD CENTURY By Jose Rivera | Directed by William Alex Runnels March 27 at 7:30 p.m. & March 28 – 29 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. | Little Theatre Mainstage A series of beautiful and powerful stories told by characters from society’s melting pot, each in their final moments of life. Their stories attest to the importance of lives lived and the traces we leave in the world: “The first time it is truly obvious that it was better that you had lived, at this time, in this world.” RIFLE RANGE LABORATORY April 3 at 7:30 p.m. and April 4 – 5 at 3 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. | Rifle Range Theatre Post Theatre Company accepts proposals for innovative projects to be produced in the Rifle Range Theatre during the Spring 2020 semester. Participants explore new and often unexpected ways of making theatre. As cross-disciplinary entrepreneurs, they produce all aspects of their own work with minimal support and guidance by the department. Where will their journey take them?
