Planning a Football Trip to Ukraine – Premier League Fixtures Announced Planning a Football Trip to Ukraine, the Premier League Fixtures for 19/20 have been announced so you can plan your Football Trip to Ukraine. This post has details. The 2017–18 season is the league’s tenth after the restructuring of professional club football in 2008 and the 27th season since establishing of professional club’s competition independent from the Soviet Union. As of 2017, Shakhtar Donetsk is the reigning Ukrainian Premier League champion. To summarise, Tavriya Simferopol won the first championship, while all the subsequent titles have gone to either Dynamo Kyiv or Shakhtar Donetsk. Only 3 teams, Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk have participated in all previous 26 Ukrainian Top League competitions. The central feature of the league is a game between Dynamo and Shakhtar which is developed into the Klasychne (Classic). Since the 2014 Russian aggression, the league was reduced to 12 members, while its format also has changed. The season is still being played in a double round robin in the first half of a season, after which the league splits in half into two groups of six (6) teams. Both the top six and the bottom six play another a double round robin tournament with the clubs of
own group. The teams that reach the top ranks of the competition table at the end of each season as always gain the chance to represent Ukraine internationally in several prestigious tournaments (continental club tournaments). Also at the end of the season, the bottom clubs (usually two) are relegated to the First League (part of the lower Professional Football League) and replaced by the top clubs from that league. All the participants of the Premier League enter the National Cup competition and enter it at the round of 32 (1/16th of the final) or Round of 16 stage. Also the winner of the League at the beginning of every next season plays against the winner of the National Cup for the Ukrainian Super Cup (under administration of the Premier League). Clubs play each other twice (once at home and once away) in the 26-match season. The league begins in mid-July and ends in mid-June. After 13 rounds of fixtures, there is a winter break that lasts for three months (from early December to early March). Thus, the winter break is significantly longer than the interval between seasons. This schedule accounts for climatic conditions and matches that of most European leagues in terms of the beginning and the end of the season. The UPL clubs General Assembly also adopted a post season play-off mini-tournament for the last fifth berth of Ukraine in the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League competition which will involve the best team(s) of the relegation group. Stadiums Three teams play their matches outside of home towns. The minimum threshold for the stadium’s capacity in the UPL is 5,000 (Article 10, paragraph 7.2). It will be played between the champions of the 2018–19 Primeira Liga, Benfica, and the winners of the 2018–19 Taça de Portugal, crosstown rivals Sporting CP, on 4 August 2019. The game will be played at the Estadio Algarve located between Faro and Loulé, in Portugal. The Estádio Algarve stadium also hosts concerts, music festivals and the occasional international friendly soccer competition but has remained something of a white elephant as neither local club have enjoyed enough domestic success to attract sufficient supporters to make the stadium a viable, commercial success. In fact, both teams usually play their games in smaller stadiums. Estádio Algarve is located 8 km north-west of Faro on the A22 highway to Loulé. The stadium has its own station, Parque das Cidades, with trains to Faro (the next stop), Loulé (two stops), Portimao and Lagos. From the station the stadium is a
15-minute walk. France The 2019 Trophée des Champions (transl. 2019 Champions Trophy) will be the 24th edition of the French super cup. The match will be contested by the winners of the 2018–19 Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain and Coupe de France champions, Rennes. The match will be played at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China. The stadium has a capacity of 60,334 spectators. Paris Saint-Germain are the six-time defending champions, having beat Monaco in the 2018 edition. Shenzhen is a major city in Guangdong Province, China. It forms part of the Pearl River Deltamegalopolis. The city is located immediately north of Hong Kong. Italy The 2019 Supercoppa Italiana will be the 32nd edition of the Supercoppa Italiana, the Italian football super cup. It will be played in the 2019–20 season by Juventus, the winners of the 2018–19 Serie A championship, and Lazio, the winners of the 2018–19 Coppa Italia. It’s played around the world in recent years and this years is in Saudi Arabia so not a great option for a football trip. Last years was played in January and whilst the dates for this years have not been announced I expect it to be similar.
Planning a Football Trip to Poland – Ekstraklasa Fixtures 19/20 Announced The Ekstraklasa is the top Polish professional league for men’s association football teams (it is the country’s primary football competition). This post helps you plan a Football Trip to Poland with details of fixtures for 19/20 season. Contested by 16 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 37 games each, totalling 296 matches in the season. Games are played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. The winner of the Ekstraklasa qualifies for the Polish SuperCup. The season will start on 20 July 2019 and conclude on 17 May 2020. After the 20th matchday the league will go on a winter break between 23 December 2019 and 8 February 2020. The regular season was played as a round-robin tournament. A total of 16 teams participated, 14 of which competed in the league during the 2017–18 season, while the remaining two were promoted from the 2017–18 I liga. Each team played a total of 30 matches, half at home and half away. After the 30th round (in the beginning of April 2019), the league was split into two groups: championship round (top eight teams) and relegation round (bottom eight teams). Each team played 7 more games (teams ranked 1 to 4 and 9 to 12 played four times at home). Therefore each team played a total of 37 matches. The team at the top of the Championship round won the league title. However, the rules for promotion and relegation from the league will be changed: starting from the 2019/20 season, three teams will be relagated from Ekstraklasa to I league, while from the first league to Ekstraklasa two
teams will advance directly, while teams from 3-6 places will fight in a play-off where the winner will be awarded with a promotion to Ekstraklasa. The defending champions are Piast Gliwice, who won their 1st Polish title the previous season. The two clubs promoted were Raków Częstochowa, returned to Ekstraklasa after 21 years, as well as ŁKS Łódź, who make a return to Ekstraklasa after 7 years. Fixtures Exact dates, times, and channels of the broadcast during each matchweek, are known about 30 days ahead, after an agreement with the holder of TV media rights – NC+ The Eksraklasa website has the full list of fixtures. This is partly due to quasi-colonial exploitation of the region after 1945 by the central government (or at least perceived as such in the region), partly due to Warsaw strongly opposing any attempt for greater autonomy for Silesia, and the hostility of the mining communities (Upper Silesia being a predominantly mining region) towards the ruling capital. 5th October – Piast Gliwice v Legia

Fans of Lechia, Śląsk and Wisła also shared a friendship called Trzej Królowie Wielkich Miast and any match between the two groups was considered a big rivalry[7]. Wisła then broke away from the alliance and joined Elana Toruń, Widzew Łódź and Ruch Chorzów fans, causing a massive rift in the Polish supporter world. 20th July – Wisla v Slask Wroclaw 26th July – Lechia Gdansk v Wisla 17th August – Arka Gdynia v Lech Poznan 18th August – Slask Wroclaw v Cracovia 14th September – Lechia Gdansk v Lech Poznan 5th October – Lech Poznan v Wisla 19th October – Arka Gdynia v Lechia Gdansk 26th October – Slask Wroclaw v Arka Gdynia 9th November – Wisla v Arka Gdynia 30th November – Wisla v Lechia Gdansk 14th December – Slask Wroclaw v Lech Poznan 21st December – Cracovia v Slask Wroclaw 22nd February – Lech Poznan v Lechia Gdansk 7th March – Wisla v Lech Poznan 14th March – Lechia Gdansk v Arka Gdynia 21st March – Arka Gdynia v Slask Wroclaw 4th April – Lechia Gdansk v Cracovia 11th April – Arka Gdynia v Wisla The Holy War (Kraków)[16] (Święta Wojna) is a match between Wisła Kraków and Cracovia – multiple Polish champions, the two biggest clubs in Kraków and reportedly the oldest existing ones in Poland, both founded in 1906
