F76145 Tazio EXPLORE TOMORROW‘S STYLE TRENDS WITH US Living and working environment design also reflects the social changes pinpointed by various future and trend researchers as megatrends. Global trends such as personalisation, the neo-ecology concept, „new work“ or urbanisation, spawn individual trends. Changes in the working world, such as “co-working” or “urban manufacturing”, also influence our working environments – open-plan offices, a cosy atmosphere and fitness, health and leisure time offers are designed to motivate the employees, improve communication and thereby make our work more productive. Sustainable construction or “healing architecture” are changing the materials and products used by architects and interior designers. Due to the increasing focus on urban conglomerations, living spaces are becoming a precious commodity. “Micro-housing” and “co-living” are changing the interior design and furnishings in our homes. All of this impacts on the colours, materials and surfaces. Pfleiderer takes these future topics on board and is setting design trends for the next few years with its latest range of innovative finishes and textures. On the following pages, you will find some ideas for design concepts with our recently developed finishes. Get some inspiration, from functional to „hygge“! 2 3

5 HOME TREND SHADES OF COLOUR Unlike chromatic plain colours, nuances of taupe and pastel shades can be com- bined with each other as well as almost all wood and material finishes. Nuances of grey with a minimal colour content make rooms, furniture and accessories and even façades look lighter and more generously sized. Despite the chromatic colour content, they are neutral and also work well in small spaces, which makes them perfect for new urban lifestyles where an increasing number of peop- le share living and working spaces. SOLID RUGGED Traditional wood reinterpreted: with R20348 Oiled Oak its expressive grain, crown-cut, plank- matched and meticulously oiled oak looks incomparably robust yet also exudes warmth. This finish is as suitable for compact individual accent pieces of furniture as it is for large-scale areas – the oiled surface always adds hand- crafted charm. Available as colour match DB + HPL. With its rough, matte and irregular surface, this striking slate simply looks „real“. The distinctive lines of shadow and light created by the sharply cut edges emphasise the visual depth. The neutral shade of grey permits all colour and material combinations. Deep Slate is perfect for horizontal surfaces on pieces of furniture as well as large wall spaces in a room. RUSTIC DANCING With its irregular grain, colourful flares and large knots, this striking beech heartwood adds warmth to any room. The matte, almost dull surface looks velvety and contrasts the rustic elements of the grain that results in a cosy, uncomplicated wood finish. In combination with metal or ceramic materials or cool plain shades, it is as perfect for kitchens and bathrooms as it is for living spaces. Available as colour match DB + HPL. R24096 Beech Crenata The cosy colourway of this cheerful terrazzo makes this finish easy to combine with wood and warm plain colours. The irregularly distributed, sharp-edged as well as pebble-shaped stones feature lovely nuances that range from grey to beige and terracotta. Many wood shades go well with these colours; Calypso is a perfect companion for them. Ideal for horizontal surfaces S68050 Calypso in kitchens and bathrooms. Available as colour match DB + HPL. 14 15

UNCOMPLICATED WELL-BALANCED This delicate brushed alder embodies a new generation of cosy wood. Patterned all-over, linear and slender, the colour spectrum of the fine grain features shades of brown and grey on a whitish, light background. Alnus is therefore perfect for Scandinavian- style interiors in combination with plain cool shades. However, it looks just as beautiful contrasted with metal and ceramic finishes. The finish always adapts to its environment in an uncomplicated way and creates a light, friendly atmosphere. Available as colour match DB + HPL. R36025 Brushed Alnus F76146 Terrazzo bronze F76147 Terrazzo bronze OV Delicate terrazzo has been interpreted like a metal here with a mother-of-pearl sheen and a soft shade of brown. The matte surface can take the contrast between the dark background and the amber-coloured stone fragments; the material looks velvety and rich. The sophisticated character of the bronze perfectly emphasises the beauty of fine-grained types of wood in matching shades. This finish has also been successfully marketed in a more dynamic version with a black back- ground as „Terrazzo Nero“. 18 19
R20349 Tangram Oak PLAYFUL Highlighting certain aspects and broken areas are major themes in furniture and interior design. Mosaic, terrazzo and inlays reflect this in a multi-faceted way. The generous finish Tangram Oak looks like a wood mosaic created from large-scale multi-cornered pieces put together at different angles, with the grain going in varying directions. Despite its striking look, this finish is therefore non-directional, which makes it eminently suitable for furniture construction. The grain of this natural, light oak features nuances of mid-grey; it therefore goes well with warm as well as cool shades of grey. This contemporary inlay interpretation references traditional craftsmanship and looks opulent in a new way. Available as colour match DB + HPL. 20 21
GIGANTIC TECHNICAL This black and silky brushed aluminium with a subtle mother-of-pearl effect looks technical and masculine, sophisticated as well as exquisite. The matte silk texture emphasises the metallic look. Alux is an ideal companion for the brushed stainless steel Inox and adds perfect highlights to contemporary kitchens, office furniture and interior solutions for commercial properties. However, this finish also makes an impact on large-scale surfaces: it looks great on doors, table tops or façade elements. The oversized, graphically interpreted oak grain of Giant Oak turns the familiar proportions upside down! The striking black and white contrast and sharply outlined details make this wood finish extremely eye-catching, even when viewed from a distance. It is therefore as suitable for large-scale wall panels, doors and furniture fronts as it is for outdoor use, F76141 Alux black for example on façades. Unconventional, uncompromising, striking. FUNCTIONAL CASUAL Plywood, sheet metal or concrete went beyond what we were used to seeing in homes. BRUSHED Black wood is one of the dominating currently fashionable themes. It comes in a wide range of different styles. With its rough, super-matte surface, this charred and brushed oak looks hand-treated. The contrast between the brushed, amber-coloured background and the blueish-anthracite coloured grain permits a country cottage style or a contemporary interpretation. Either way, Flamed Wood looks extremely authentic. Available as colour match DB + HPL. R20351 Flamed Wood 28 29
FRAGMENTED Traditional, yet also completely trendy again: cheerful Terrazzo Abruzzo colore. The name says it all; the embedded sharp-edged pebbles have different colours and include cool shades of blue and grey as well as friendly nuances of beige. This cool, colourful version of the non-directional Abruzzo goes particularly well with calm, fine grained types of wood and the matching plain colours. The second version, Abruzzo naturale, impresses with a more subtle effect. It features stones in nuances of neutral, natural colours embedded in black, which makes it perfect for combinations with darker wood or black metal. TEXTURED THREE-DIMENSIONAL This innovative concrete finish has depth and surprises with a striking design of notched trowel textured triangles that run in different directions. The distinctive light and shadow contrasts on the porous looking surface add authenticity to this finish: it looks like an elaborately plastered wall, with neutral shades of grey that emphasise this character. Tazio therefore looks most impressive on large areas – such as worktops, wall panels or cabinet fronts. Also perfect for outdoor furniture or façades. Exclusive Pfleiderer design. Available as colour match DB + HPL. F76145 Tazio Concrete 4.0. Graphic, matte and an un usual colour: with its mid-spectrum shade of anthracite, Kex heralds a new era in plaster- and concrete-look finishes. The right-angled but irregular design of the three-dimensional texture looks very lively, yet Kex also exudes calm thanks to its dull, grainy surface. It is therefore just as suitable for indoor use on fronts, wall panels and horizontal surfaces as it for outdoor areas. Exclusive Pfleiderer design. Available as colour match DB + HPL. RIBBED F73075 Solidale The suggested feel of a material also plays an increasingly important role in living and working environments. This graphic plaster finish impresses with a three-dimensional texture of raised horizontal lines. With its grainy surface and irregular raised lines, it looks hand- crafted. The neutral, sandy filler shade makes it easy to combine with a wide range of pale wood types, concrete and steel. Solidale looks as striking used sparingly, for example on kitchen fronts, as it does on large-scale areas such as doors, wall panels or façade elements. Solidale blue goes perfectly with the new taupe shade „Horizon“, and creates an exciting Nordic family together with cool white, anthracite and Scandinavian wood. Silver-coloured metal finishes such as Zinc or Alux black add technical accents. F73076 Solidale blue Exclusive Pfleiderer design. Available as colour match DB + HPL. 34 35
JET-BLACK Sugi ban – the Japanese art of preserving wood by charring its surface, which results in an unusual craquelure finish that is nevertheless silky-smooth and leaves the original grain on show. Blueish-black, in part silvery, the effect of this jet-black surface is sophisticated and lively. Despite its marked individuality, this finish goes with most ceramic or metal materials, and definitely with all plain-coloured finishes. Ideal for fronts and worktops as well as large wall areas both indoors and out. Available as colour match DB + HPL. R48050 Sugi ban 36 37
COMBINED DYNAMIC U12044 Dolphin Grey Calming and slow-paced: this warm, reddish shade of grey looks cosy and has a balancing effect on many material combinations. Dolphin Grey subtly connects dark wood with metals, ceramic or textiles; the resulting contrast reduction creates a well- balanced overall look. Dolphin Grey closes a gap in the extensive range of greys in Pfleiderer‘s collection of plain colours and looks perfect combined with the new sandy texture Sand Pearl. Available as colour match DB + HPL. This patchwork-style finish, which consists of oblong stripes of varying widths, looks extremely multi- faceted. The stripes, in subtle pastel tones, warm shades of blue and soft earthy colours, create an additional three-dimensional effect. This fantasy finish features all of the new shades of taupe, which makes it an uncomplicated companion for these – but also, surprisingly, for numerous muted colours which this finish does not actually contain. Patchwork is most suitable for generously-sized vertical areas. Great effects can be achieved by F79023 Patchwork combining it with pale or very dark coloured wood. Available as colour match DB + HPL. 38 39
TUSCAN NORDIC With its soft green leaves and distinctive fresh aroma, sage is one of the herbs that is typical for Tuscany. Traditionally, this warm, soft shade of green has therefore always been used for country cottage style furniture, but it is now gradually making its way into contemporary home interiors. It goes well with delicate looking types of wood – pale Scandinavian, honey-coloured and darker shades. Sage belongs to the collection of new shades of taupe that have been added to the Pfleiderer range of plain colours. Available as colour match DB + HPL. Light shades of taupe create a friendly look but don‘t dominate. They go well with types of wood and materials, from metal to textile, that are not too expressive.
