ABOUT AS_______________________________________________ This project is a result of the collaboration between 2 companies, on one hand, Roseland Musical, a dance company with 30 years creating shows especially for family audience. The artistic career of our company is supported by 9 dance-theatre productions that have been represented in over 20 countries. During these years, the company participated in many projects, highlighting the choreographic direction in several events as the opening show of the EXPOZARAGOZA2008, the artistic direction and choreographies of Barcelona Christmas Parade since 2005, the centenary of the Football Club Barcelona and in several Special Olympics Games, etc. And on the other hand, Franc Aleu director of Urano, multimedia company founded in 1997, who works with the latest image technologies. Franc Aleu is known as the image director of several operas directed by la Fura dels Baus. PINOCCHIO SUMMARY_________________________________________ Imagine the following atmosphere, a stage illuminated by a soft light, in front of the stage a transparent tulle allows us to see the background of the stage, the big screen shows the place where our story begins, we hear some strange and metallic sounds, suddenly someone come into the stage dragging a big bag. Something is about to be alive inside the bag; we are going to meet our main character. Our story is based on the original novel written by Carlo Collodi in nineteenth century called “Pinocchio” with an innovative staging using the latest image technology. Our proposal uses the movement, choreography and music as a narrative bases, and the visual image and technology as a backdrop.
OBJECTIVES AND METHODOLOGY_________________________________ The project aims to surprise with a new stage language, bringing dance to all audience with a show where dance coexists with technology creating a magical universe. The 3D effect will project the work to surprising dimensions in a stage where reality and virtual reality live in perfect synchrony. The stage of the theater breaks traditional limits and through a film language transports children and adults to a visual world of a great plastic beauty. Based on a known novel, we want to offer an alternative to the usual, adapting original characters and emotions to the present, with original music and a stage with infinite possibilities that technology offers. SET DESIGN__________________________________________________ The set is formed by two screens, the background screen projects virtual and dynamic sets where the story goes by, and a tulle in front of the stage projects virtual characters. Images and characters move from one screen to the other, between the tulle and the background screen, the dancers perform and interact with the virtual characters and images forming a consistent whole.
