MANDATORY STUDENT IDs EVERY student is required to wear their SHHS ID from 7:30am-4:00pm, while on school grounds. An ID must be displayed on the front of their person, above the waist, and in clear line of sight when on campus; i.e. on a breakaway lanyard or clipped to the front of a shirt. IDs may not be in the back of phones, in pockets, in wallets, or clipped to bags. Identification of staff and students is a safety issue and will not be compromised. A student not displaying an ID will be subject to school consequences and possible loss of privileges related to attending activities/events. Student IDs are required for: ● authorization to be on campus during the school day ● admission to school dances and activity events ● admission to home sporting events ● free admission to home athletic events with activity fee paid (excludes state competitions) ● student admission price at “away” athletic events ● boarding a school bus ● checking out books from the media center or resource centers ● checking out equipment ● obtaining school parking permits ● obtaining a work permit ● paying for fees and fines in the bookkeeping office ● purchasing lunches from your lunch account Lost/Stolen/Damaged/Replacement IDs can be purchased at the Security Office in the Activities hallway. STUDENT LOCKERS & PARKING PERMITS Dear SHHS Families, -Lockers will no longer be automatically assigned to students. However, lockers are available for check out upon request. This can be done once school starts through the Security Office. Students are allowed to carry a backpack to class. -Parking Permits will be processed through the Security Office once school starts. SMOKY HILL HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC REGISTRATION 2021-2022 John Thompson, Athletic Director Dawn Michael, Athletic Assistant 720-886-5551 For an athlete to try-out for a sport, the following 4 items must be completed BEFORE the first day of practice: 1) Online athletic registration. This is found at www.smokysports.com. Look for the registration tab. 2) Payment. There is a $90 district athletic fee. This can be paid online, during athletic registration, or by check or cash in the athletics office. 3) Current Physical. The district physical form is available for download at www.smokysports.com. This form needs to be used for physicals and only pages 4 and 5 need to be submitted/returned. The form may be uploaded during registration or personally turned in to the athletics office. 4) Athlete must be cleared by the Athletic Office Academic eligibility is required in order to participate in interscholastic scrimmages or games. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Fall sports begin on Monday, August 9th. Online Registration, physical forms, and payment must be turned in to the Athletic office no later than August 6, 2021 for the athlete to participate on August 9th. Football and Boys’ Golf Monday, August 2nd and must be cleared by July 30th to participate for the first day of practice There will be no athletic check-in taken on Aug 9th. Late registration will begin August 10th. The Athletics Office will begin taking physicals and payments for fall sports Monday through Friday July 19th from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Registration will take place prior to each season.
