CEO, Phillip Island Nature Parks 2021 THEME Partnering for land, sea and coast Partnering for land, sea and coast has been selected to recognise the significance of partnerships that effectively manage the natural and cultural values of islands, surrounding seas and coasts. It seeks to highlight the leading role of Traditional Custodians and Community Groups in island, sea and coastal management. Through joint efforts and shared understanding the environmental, cultural, social, and economic values of islands can be protected. OUR UNITED PURPOSE The Island Arks Symposium VII is a well-recognised event around Australia, New Zealand and other parts of the Pacific Ocean and is expected to attract approximately 120 delegates. The symposium is a targeted opportunity for Ranger teams, Traditional Custodians, community groups, practitioners, policy makers and scientists to explore the challenges, pathways and solutions to forging successful partnerships to manage island systems, and examine how the resilience of island systems can be enhanced in a changing world. Millowl (Phillip Island) will host the 2021 Symposium, bringing great opportunity to showcase local conservation, tourism and wildlife organisations.
