Benefiting the Fundraising Plan Your fundraising campaign: It has to be planned! Did you know that the majority of people do not sponsor walkers or runners simply because they were not asked to? It is important to start your fundraising campaign as early as possible, by establishing a fundraising plan. That way, your campaign will be way more successful. People around you will want to encourage you, whether they are colleagues, friends, family members; all you need to do is ask and you will get! 1) Plan your campaign (4 to 6 weeks before the event) - Set yourself an objective, either as a team or as an individual. - Organize a planning and logistics meeting with your team, so that you can pitch in all of your ideas. - Ask everyone in your team to write a list of people and companies potentially interested in donating. - Make sure that everyone in your team is registered online. 2) Fundraising campaign (2 to 4 weeks before the event) - Promote your participation to the event on social medias and ask all of your contacts to encourage you by sponsoring your run or walk. - Maximize your fundraising campaign by using all of the tools the Foundation puts at your disposition (the Foundation’s website, solicitation email available through your participant centre, social media, internal portal at the office, etc.) - Celebrate your achievements and success with your fellow teammates during your meetings, so that everyone stays motivated as the campaign progresses. 3) Keep up the rhythm, until the very end - Always take the time to thank your teammates for their work. - A few days before the Run, reach out one last time to people around you, to convince those who did not already sponsor you. - Plan one last fundraising activity in order to raise the most money you can before the big day. - Meet up one last time before the Run and increase your team spirit and your sense of belonging by motivating each other and finding new ideas to rally everyone during the event.
Benefiting the The day of the Run: October 5th 2014! It is now Run day! Encourage your teammates before the start line and celebrate your success at the finish line. Find an original way to stand out from other participants: color t-shirts, original headbands, playful accessories or even head-to-toe costumes! After the Run Do not forget to thank your sponsors. Write a thank you letter to every one of them by reminding them why breast cancer is such an important cause to you and by indicating the final amount of donations raised by your team.

People will be quickly drawn to the donation box and will be able to put in money right away. Door to door – Why not use the good old fashioned method of the door to door? Go around your neighbou- rhood and explain your motivations to people, and why you are so involved in the cause. You can even ask them to sponsor your run!
