WELCOME LETTER 2018 PARKS AND RECREATION On behalf of the Recreation Commission and the staff of the Carrollton Parks and Recreation Department, I am pleased to present our spring/summer brochure. It is a very exciting time for our department as we expand upon our capital improvements, continue to highlight our existing recreation programs, and showcase our outstanding attractions such as the Carrollton Greenbelt, East Carrollton Recreation Complex, and our beautiful parks around our community. This past fall, our department won the coveted Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Agency of the Year Award. This further cements our status as a proven leader in our field in the state of Georgia. Our department is one of 165 departments Nationally Accredited in the United States. Accreditation is a quality assurance and quality improvement process demonstrating an agency’s commitment to its employees, volunteers, patrons and our community. We are one of five departments in the state of Georgia who are a nationally accredited parks and recreation department. Rest assured, we are one of the top parks and recreation departments in the country. We consider it a privilege to be able to contribute to an improved quality of life for our entire city. REFUND POLICY: table of c ontent s Participants may cancel within 48 hours, before the start of class, to receive a refund less a $10 withdrawal fee. If requests for withdrawal or cancellations are made after the start of a class, the fee will be forfeited with a maximum of $15 for illness/injury. Refunds are made at the discretion classes and programs of the Division Superintendent. After August 3, the pool will be open WEEKENDS ONLY until August 12. Children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult, 18 years of age or older, to swim at all aquatics facilities. Cost: $4 Group Rate: $2.50 per person A minimum of 10 people is required to get the group rate. The person in charge of the group will also be required to fill out CPRD paperwork before entering the park. The group rate is available to church groups, day camps, day cares, and other various organizations approved by CPRD. MIDTOWN POOL PARTY INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE: Carrollton Parks and Recreation Department would love to help you celebrate a special event at Midtown Water Park. We offer an outstanding, yet affordable gymnastics team program to our community. Our year-long program follows USAG guidelines and competes in the AAU and USAG divisions. These are invitation-only programs, comprised of gymnasts who are looking to advance their skills in a competitive arena. New team members are determined with an invitational tryout in May. An appointment can be made with the head coach to schedule an evaluation throughout the year. Competitive gymnastics is a year-round sport which runs June 1 until May 31.
