Get connected - be community - show compassion Christ Church Parish Administrator Christ Church Cheltenham is an active and thriving parish church in the Lansdown / Bayshill area of Cheltenham. The church building and its attached Parish Centre are busy all week round with many interest and community groups hiring our excellent facilities. The Parish Administrator will be responsible for the overall administration of the church and parish centre. This will include, but is not limited to, supporting the Vicar, managing other administrative colleagues and any janitorial staff. You will ensure the smooth running of the church business by building positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers and users of the church and parish centre. This is a key role in the life of Christ Church Cheltenham and it is essential that you are committed to serving Jesus and the church family. Place of work: - Christ Church Parish Centre Office Responsible to: - The Vicar Employer: Parochial Church Council of Christ Church Cheltenham (PCC) Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm Holiday: 28 days per annum (to include 8 Bank Holidays) Remuneration: £12,350 per annum (FTE, £21,612) Public Face of Christ Church Parish Centre Management • Responding to enquiries, take bookings for church and parish centre and providing a point of contact for users • Producing and issuing invoices and ensuring payment • Ensuring facilities are prepared for hire • Arranging for access Church Administration • Ensuring that the Church Diary is kept up to date and communicated with all users • Dealing with general church enquiries • Ensuring that CMS (Church Management Software - databases etc) is kept updated • Ensuring that media for Sunday services has been prepared • Preparing and circulating volunteer rotas in consultation with Vicar and Churchwardens • Preparing and circulating internal communication • Management of volunteers • Understanding of the working of C of E, baptisms and funerals, and legal requirements for marriages • Ensure we meet our statutory obligations in regard to Health and safety, Employment law, GDPR and Safeguarding (assisting the Safeguarding Officer) Additional Tasks • Some finance assistance to treasurer eg Entering transactions into the ledger • Some website & social media input in conjunction with the volunteer website manager & social media manager. • The Administrator will be expected to join Staff Prayers at 9am on Thursday mornings.
