FRESHMAN FOOTBALL 2021 Football Practice Saturday, August 7th at 9:00am Please wear T-shirts, shorts and football cleats to the first practice. Equipment will be handed out after practice that day. FRESHMEN DO NOT GET CUT FROM THE FOOTBALL TEAM Even if you have never played football before, we encourage you to come out and be part of a winning team, make life-long memories and have a great time! All freshmen are invited to take advantage of the summer strength and conditioning program at Palma! Palma Music News There’s lots of fun ahead in the Palma music program! We will be rehearsing our high energy pep band material, which we play at the home football and basketball games (schedules are listed below). Participation in the pep band is mandatory for Symphonic Band members. PALMA ATHLETICS BE ON THE LOOKOUT You and your son will soon be receiving correspondence from Palma Athletics. The mailing will contain information regarding: • Sports Information Packet Forms necessary for your son to participate in Palma Athletics will be mailed separately in early July. • Student-athlete physical clearance information ALL student-athletes must undergo a physical exam in order to participate in sports. The Palma Athletic Council will offer sports physicals on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm for all Palma student- athletes, for a minimal fee of $25. The completed physical exam form is a component of the Sports Eligibility Packet so take advantage of this opportunity! No appointment is necessary. • Concussion testing information A concussion test is required every two years in high school and every year in junior high. Student-athletes new to Palma, all freshmen and junior high student-athletes MUST take the test on campus. Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores who have completed a Palma concussion test in the past can take their test (if needed) online. • School-sanctioned combination locks and P.E. clothes flyer that provides price and information Please note — ALL LOCKS USED ON CAMPUS MUST BE PURCHASED FROM PALMA. • Details on the 2021-2022 Athletics Booster Opportunities Package available for purchase • Athletic event sponsorship and advertising opportunities Palma School does not use tuition revenue to operate athletic programs. All sports programs offered at Palma are supported through fundraising activities conducted by the Palma Athletic Council. Building a sense of community among Palma fans, especially the parents of those students wearing Palma team uniforms, is a goal of the Palma Athletic Council. Please consider giving your time and participating on the various committees that ultimately fund Palma Athletics and make it possible for your son to enjoy the variety of sports here at Palma.
