1. Configuration • Clean separation between environment and config. Single source of truth for both – One place to edit environment and/or configuration – Most files can be edited directly by customer using any tool. this includes e.g. chef/puppet – No SYSMAN syncing which can overwrite some entries in some files sometimes • Singleton Data Directory (SDD) – Simple conversion to HA scale-out • Full offline configuration – Speed up domain creation • Single source-of-truth for BIPLATFORM – No environment/topology info in DB • BI 12c will use CAM (not OPMN) to manage system components. – All CAM-related configuration is also stored in DOMAIN_HOME. 2. BI Application Archive (BAR) File • Delivery artifact for a BI Application – Incudes webcat/bi server metadata/jazn for an application RPD / WEBCAT / JAZN DATA / OTHER STUFF MODEL CONTENT ROLES – Some other stuff too • Application archive can be dependent on an another archive • Multiple Applications can be deployed to a single BI Domain • A Service Instance can be configured to choose an Application (BAR) BI Application • A BAR file (Application) can be specified at Archive (BAR) Domain Creation (Install) Copyright © 2014 Oracle and/or its affiliates.
