Inclement Weather PPCC Transportation • REMEMBER if D11 closes due to weather, buses will not run from RJWAC to PPCC. If students can still safely attend their classes (and PPCC is open) then they are encouraged to attend, but if they cannot attend, then the absence will be excused for weather only. Students are responsible for notifying their instructors to have absences excused. Announcing our new group “Taking Charge of our Anxious Brain!” Ever wonder if you can control your anxiety and lessen the effect of panic attacks? Join Bill Dowdle, the School Social Worker of Odyssey, for six sessions looking in-depth at the brain’s part in anxiety. We meet in Room 260C on Fridays from 2:00-2:45 pm. The session topics are: 1. Fight, Flight, or Freeze 2. The Amygdala – Friend or Foe 3. Training Your Cortex 4. Strategies for Distress 5. Strategies for Eustress 6. Triggers, Exposure, and Reconsolidation If you would like to “check this out,” please let Ms. Stenger, in the Counseling Department, know, or email Bill Dowdle at william.dowdle@d11.org. I look forward to seeing you, as we learn to manage our anxious brain. Multicultural Club Interest Survey Several students have mentioned that ethnicity, diversity, or cultural heritage are important to you. To accommodate your expressed interest in these areas, we are thinking of creating a multicultural club. The club would be student-run, with Mrs. Gandy and me there only to supervise the club and its activities. To determine who is interested in joining and a possible day for the meetings, please complete this short survey: Survey Link Concurrent Enrollment Forms for the 2022-2023 school year are ready! Each year Odyssey ECCO students are required to complete a Concurrent Enrollment form. Last year we transitioned from a paper form to a digital one. We use Formsite for this purpose. Please use the same login information as last year to complete your new form. Only students need an account, parents will be sent an email from Formsite with the link to their child’s form so they can review and sign. The link and instructions are below. Click here for a step by step guide to completing this form. Formsite Concurrent Enrollment Form If this is the first time you completed a form through Formsite, create an account by filling out the boxes on the left. Please make note of the user name and password you use, because this account will hold all your forms from here on. Returning students should make every effort to use the same email and login as last year. I have attached a PDF of how to complete the form. Please make sure the parent email you type in is accurate, and then let your parent know to expect an email from Formsite. You do not need to complete your course information, we will attach your schedule before sending it to PPCC. It is important that you initial the three locations where it is needed, check all 13 checkboxes, and then sign with a full signature at the end. Once you click submit, the form will go to your parent for their initials and signature. Once your parent hits submit the form will go to you counselor for approval.
