The combined 2022 Homecoming and Family Weekend (Oct. 7-9) provides opportunities for everyone — alumni, students, parents, families, faculty, and staff — to experience the amazing CC spirit that energizes this community. WHERE: Under the Homecoming and Family Weekend Tents Come celebrate the winning Tiger spirit with a pre-game tailgate party including food trucks, refreshments, music, entertainment, and more. The CC men’s hockey team will take on Alaska Anchorage at 7:30 p.m. in Ed Robson Arena. The game will be livestreamed on a giant screen under the tent, and limited game tickets will be available for purchase via Colorado College Ticketmaster. (Ticket details will be available in late summer.) RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS ON OF OUR COMMUNITY One of the most important functions of the Colorado College Alumni Association Council is to recognize the contributions of distinguished alumni, faculty, staff, and members of the CC community to the betterment of society and to the enhancement of the college and its mission. The Alumni Association Council acknowledges these alumni, faculty, and staff members through four awards presented annually at Homecoming and Family Weekend Convocation. This year, the college honors the following people with these awards: THE LLOYD E. WORNER AWARD The Lloyd E. Worner Award recognizes outstanding loyalty, service, and generosity to the college as evidenced by continuing concern and support for students and the quality of teaching and learning, as well as the general well-being and future excellence of the institution. These attributes characterize the many years of service and effective contributions of Lloyd E. THE GRESHAM RILEY AWARD The Gresham Riley Award recognizes faculty and staff who have made a significant difference to the Colorado College community through outstanding service, commitment, and accomplishment. The continuing concern for and support of students and alumni demonstrated by such individuals ensures the general well-being and future excellence of the college. These accomplishments exemplify the important contributions made by Gresham Riley, the 10th president of Colorado College, 1981-92. 2022 RECIPIENT Board of Trustees Chair Jeff Keller ’91, P’23 said, “Brian was a strong and compassionate leader who dedicated Brian Young himself to students, staff, faculty, and the success of (In Memoriam) Colorado College. THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE AWARD The Spirit of Adventure Award recognizes an alum who exemplifies the unique CC experience through a life of intellectual, social, or physical adventure. These attributes are characterized by the late Robert M. Ormes '26, a Colorado College English professor from 1952-73 who was the inaugural award recipient. 2022 RECIPIENT enrolling as a graduate student and switching his focus to psychology.
