Information For Show Information Visit: www.bluechipchamps.co.uk Close of Entries: Entries will close at 10pm on Thursday 17 December 2020. Entries open on Friday 5 December 2020 and will only be accepted online via My Riding Life by visiting the championship finals 2020 page on www.bluechipchamps.co.uk Online Support: If you experience any difficulties making an entry or require support please text the My Riding Life Team on 07798 626075. If you have any queries or wish to make any changes to an existing entry please contact the Show Secretary on 07855 663358 or amanda@showdirect.co.uk. Entries may close to competitions for which qualification is not required prior to the Thursday 17 December if classes are over-subscribed on any given day. COVID-19 Policy: As a condition of entry to the Show all Competitors will be expected to comply with the current Covid-19 Policy for the Show which is available to download on www.bluechipchamps.co.uk and which may be updated to conform to the current requirements. Should Competitors fail to conform to the Covid-19 Policy for the Show they may be asked to leave the Show Ground. The number of people allowed on site with each Competitor is listed in the Covid-19 Policy which is available to download on www.bluechipchampionships.co.uk and which may be updated to conform to current requirements. Face covering or other means of protective equipment are required for anyone that is unmounted while they are in an indoor area and / or in close proximity to other people. Please refer to the Covid-19 Policy which is available on www.bluechipchamps.co.uk for updates on face coverings. Track & Trace: All Competitors will be required to provide contact details for themselves and their companions prior to the Championships. Anyone arriving at the Show Ground will be required to confirm their details prior to entry. Anyone without confirmed details may be declined entry to the Show Ground. Further details will be available in the Covid-19 Policy which is available to download on www.bluechipchampionships.co.uk and which may be updated to conform to the current requirements. Show Ground Access: Horses may arrive on the showground from 3.00pm on Sunday 27 December. Horses requiring stables must arrive before 7.30pm as the Stable Managers Office will close at 8.00pm. The Show Ground entrance will close at 11.00pm. Access to the Show Ground will be from 6.00am – 11.00pm on Show days. Outside these times the entrance will be opened for emergency access only. Horses / Ponies requiring stabling must arrive on the showground before 7.30pm. Should any competitor be delayed, they must contact the Stable Manager on 07779 788014. Vaccination Certificate: All horses and ponies at the Blue Chip Championships must have a current and valid certificate of vaccination against Equine Influenza which will be inspected upon arrival at the Championships. Please read Point 40 in the Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships General Rules & Regulations. Horses and ponies without a valid vaccination certificate on arrival will not be allowed to stay at the Show. 3
Show Ground Stabling: There will be approximately 170 permanent stables available at £36 (inc. VAT) per stable per night. Stables must be booked on-line. If you wish to increase the number of nights a horse is stabled once the initial stable booking is made, please contact the Show Secretary on 07855 663358 to amend your booking. Horses may not arrive before 3.00pm on 27 December and all horses must depart on Saturday 2 January. Stable hire is from 5.00pm on day of arrival – 4.00pm on the day of departure (access from 3.00pm on Sunday 27 December). Stables must be vacated on time so that incoming horses may be stabled. If stables are not vacated on time a fine of £80 per stable may be charged for late departure. All Competitors will pay a £20 per stable cash deposit upon arrival at the Stable Managers Office prior to being allocated stables. This deposit is fully refundable prior to departure and upon confirmation that the Competitors stable has been emptied of bedding and left tidy. If the stable is not emptied of bedding and left tidy the deposit will not be refunded. Stables will be sprayed with disinfectant between each occupancy. Should it be necessary or feasible to provide additional stables, these will be 3m x 3m temporary stables and horses will be balloted between permanent and temporary stables and it will be subject to the nights that stables are required rather than the date that booking is received. Lighting is not provided in temporary stables. Notification will not be sent out to those allocated temporary stables. Any damage caused to stables will be charged to the hirer. Horseboxes / trailers may be parked some distance from the stables. Competitors may not sub-let or re-sell any stables they have purchased and are then unable and / or don’t wish to use themselves. Stable Manager’s Office is open daily from 7.00am – 8.00pm Stable Bedding : All stables will be empty of bedding on arrival. Natural Flake Shavings may be purchased from the Stable Manager at £7.50 per bale between 9.00am and 8.00pm. For further information on Natural Flake Shavings please visit www.awjenkinson.co.uk. Straw is not permitted. Haylage : Horsehaylage may be purchased from the Stable Manager £6.50 per bale between 9.00am and 8.00pm. For more information on Horsehaylage please visit their website www.horsehaylage.co.uk Electric Lorry Hook Up : Limited 6amp electrical hook ups are available for horseboxes at a cost of £86 (inc. VAT) per hook up for the period that the Competitor is staying on the Show Ground and may not be transferred to another Competitor. Horseboxes will require a 16amp (blue socket) extension cable (which must conform to current electrical regulations) to connect to the socket supplied. Whilst the Organiser will endeavour to supply the hook up booked the Organiser does not guarantee a constant supply throughout the Show, nor do we accept any responsibility for losses and / or discomfort occurring as a result of a break in the supply provided. Electrical connection must be booked on-line and is on a strictly first come basis. No refunds can be made on any cancelled bookings. 4
First Aid: A fee of £6 per day per Competitor will be charged towards medical cover during the hours of competition. Meals: The Hartpury Snack Bar will be available from 4.00pm – 8.00pm on Sunday 27 December and then open from 7.00am till the end of competition on show days. While some tables and chairs will be available, if there is nowhere suitable to sit, please return to your horsebox or car. Neither the Hartpury Arena Restaurant nor the Bar will be open. Drawn Order: All classes are drawn order and competitors must declare to the Steward in the warm up arena prior to the start of each competition. The drawn orders will be posted on www.bluechipchamps.co.uk from 4.00pm on Sunday 27 December. Prize Giving: The top three competitors winning prizes in each class will be expected to attend the Official Mounted Prize Giving in the Voltaire Design Championship Arena following the conclusion of each competition. Prize Money: Competitors that win prize money will be contacted after the conclusion of the Championships by the Show Secretary and prize money to be sent via a BACS transfer. Special Prizes: All special prizes must be collected from the Show Secretary prior to departure from the Show Ground. Pony competitors must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will not be forwarded after the event. Gifts for Finalists: Blue Chip Feed have kindly provided a baseball cap for all qualified finalists who compete in a Championship Final. These may be collected from the Show Secretary’s Office during the Show where you will also receive a Blue Chip Championship Finalist badge. These are restricted to one per person. Pony Height Certificates: All ponies competing in classes 2, 3, 6, 8, 9 and any pony competing at the Blue Chip Championships that have graded winnings of 300 points or more must have a current JMB height certificate as per British Showjumping Rule 45.7. Please refer to the British Showjumping Members Online Handbook for further information. Pony Boot Rule: British Showjumping Rule 102.15 in the British Showjumping Members Online Handbook will apply to all pony competitions at the Blue Chip Championships. Refund Policy for Entries and Stable Fees: Refunds of entries will only be made in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 79.5. Stabling fees will not be refunded for stables cancelled on or after 17 December 2020. A refund of 50% of the stable fee will be made on cancellations prior to 17 December 2020. Payment of refunds will only be made after the Championships. Covid-19 Cancellation Policy: Sould the event be cancelled prior to 27 December, or part-concluded and then abandoned, due to Covid-19 then Competitors will receive a full refund on unused Entries and Medical Fees and un-commenced Stables and Hook Ups minus the My Riding Life booking fee, the online STRIPE payment fee and a £2 administration fee. 5

In particular you acknowledge that the Organiser shall not under any circumstances be responsible for any loss, injury, illness or damage to (whether or not foreseeable and howsoever caused), or any theft from, any Competitor, any horse or other animal, any vehicle, or any other property whatsoever in the Show Ground, providing that nothing shall exclude or limit the Organiser’s liability for the death of or personal injury to any person caused by its negligence or that of its employees or agents. Furthermore, the Organiser has taken all reasonable precautions to minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection. By attending the Show, the Entrant and any Associated Person confirm that they have accepted, and will also take suitable precautions against, risks in relation to potential Covid-19 infection. As a condition to entry and attendance you understand that should you be found to be breaking any protocols, particularly in relation to the measures in place to minimise the risk of spreading Covis-19, you will be asked to leave the Show Ground immediately, your entries will be forfeited and no refund offered. BLUE CHIP WINTER SHOW JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS Please read these General Rules and Regulations carefully. By entering, attending, or being in any way involved in any aspect of the Show, you indicate that you accept and agree to comply with these General Rules and Regulations. 1. DEFINITIONS – In these General Rules and Regulations the term “Competitor” refers to every Entrant and Associated Person. The term “Entrant” refers to all exhibitors and competitors entering the Show. The term “Associated Person” refers to all owners, riders, handlers, drivers, grooms, and parents / guardians of competitors under the age of 17 associates and / or supporters of Entrants. The term “Show” refers to the event known as the Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships held at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire GL19 3BE (the “Show Ground”). The term “Organiser” refers to Show Direct Ltd incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 04558504 and all its employees, officers, representatives, volunteers and show officials. The term “Show Secretary” refers to Amanda Bywater or such other person as may be appointed to perform such role. The term “Entry Form” refers to the form to be completed by all Entrants. 2. RESPONSIBILITY – The Organiser shall not under any circumstances be responsible for any loss, injury, illness or damage to (whether or not foreseeable and howsoever caused), or any theft from, any Competitor, any horse or other animal, any vehicle, or any other property whatsoever in the Show Ground, provided that nothing shall exclude or limit the Organiser’s liability for the death of or personal injury to any person caused by its negligence or that of its employees or agents. Any items brought into the Show Ground or left in vehicles or tack lockers (whether locked or not) are at the Competitor’s own risk. Competitors shall take such steps as are necessary to secure their property whilst in the Show Ground. Competitors are responsible for ensuring that their horses are in good health and each Competitor shall take all necessary steps to prevent the contracting or spread of any disease or illness at the Show. Competitors will be responsible for reimbursing the Organiser for all liabilities, costs, expenses, damages and losses (including but not limited to any direct, indirect or resulting losses, loss of profit, loss of reputation and all interest, penalties and legal costs and all other reasonable professional costs and expenses) suffered or incurred by the Organiser arising out of or in connection with any breach of these Rules and Regulations by the Competitor or anyone under the control of the Competitor. All Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and may not be left at the Show unaccompanied. Each Entrant will be considered responsible in all respects for the acts and/or failures to act of their Associated Persons. The Entrant shall be responsible for the consequences of any infringement by its Associated Persons of these Rules and Regulations. Competitors are personally responsible for ensuring that they take all necessary measures with regards to health and safety. Upon any entry to any competition at the Show each Competitor acknowledges that he/she is taking part in a risk sport and represents that he/she is a competent rider at the level of competition in which he/she has entered. Competitors who suffer a fall or any other injury whilst in the Show Ground must report the fall / injury to the Show Secretary. Competitors shall comply with the rules of Hartpury College and any reasonable instructions given to them by the Organisers. 3. INSURANCE – Competitors are personally responsible for damage to: any buildings, land, equipment, or other property in the Show Ground; or to any third persons caused by the Competitor, their employees, their agents, or their horses / ponies. It is strongly advised that Competitors have in force third-party insurance providing full coverage for participation in and attendance at the Show. 30
4. COVID-19 Policy - As a condition of entry to the Show all Competitors will be expected to comply with the current Covid-19 Policy for the Show which is available to download on www.bluechipchamps.co.uk and which may be updated to conform to the current requirements. Should Competitors fail to conform to the Covid-19 Policy for the Show they may be asked to leave the Show Ground. 5. ASSOCIATED PERSONS PERMITTED ON THE SHOW GROUND – The number of people allowed on site with each Competitor is listed in the Covid-19 Policy which is available to download on www.bluechipchamps.co.uk and which may be updated to conform to the current requirements. 6. TRACK & TRACE – All Competitors will be required to provide contact details for themselves and their companions prior to the Championships. Anyone arriving at the Show Ground will be required to confirm their details prior to entry. Anyone without confirmed details may be declined entry to the Show Ground. Further details will be available in the Covid-19 Policy which is available to download on www.blechipchamps.co.uk and which may be updated to conform to the current requirements. 7. ADDITIONAL FEES – The Organiser reserves the right to charge an additional fee to Competitors should extraordinary circumstances arise which require procedures to be implemented that would not normally be anticipated or expected, but were considered by the Organiser to be in the best interests for the wellbeing of either Competitors, horses and animals, general public and / or the successful running of the Championships. 8. REMOVAL FROM THE SHOW –The Organiser retains at its absolute discretion the right to decline entry or exclude or remove any person or animal from the Show or future shows or return any entry fee without being required to assign any reason or being liable to the Competitor for any compensation. 9. QUALIFICATION – Horses / Ponies that have qualified may be ridden by British Showjumping members other than those at the time of qualification. At the discretion of the Organiser, qualification is deemed void if the “Qualification Form” has not been returned. Horses / Ponies are deemed qualified for the final at the point of qualification, even if they subsequently move up a grade prior to the final. 10. COMPETITIONS – The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, add to, or amend any of the competitions or the Show, as they deem appropriate (with the approval of British Showjumping). 11. ENTRIES – In all classes entries are confined to members of British Showjumping and registered horses in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 77. 12. FIRST AID – A fee of £6 per day per Competitor will be charged towards medical cover during the hours of competition. 13. RE-PRESENTED CHEQUE – Any payment that has to be re-presented to the bank for whatever reason will be subject to a £20.00 administration fee each time it is re-presented. 14. VAT RECEIPTS – All entries, medical, stable and hook up fees include VAT. A receipt may be requested from the Show Secretary but must be accompanied by a SAE. 15. REFUND OF ENTRY AND STABLE FEES – Refunds of entries will only be made in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 79.5. Stabling fees will not be refunded for stables cancelled on or after 17 December 2020. A refund of 50% of the stable fee will be made on cancellations prior to 17 December 2020. Payment of refunds will only be made after the Championships. Should the event be cancelled prior to 27 December, or part-concluded and then abandoned, due to Covid-19 then Competitors will receive a full refund on unused Entries and Medical Fees and un-commenced Stables and Hook Ups minus the My Riding Life booking fee, the online STRIPE payment fee and a £2 administration fee. 16. COLLECTING RING – All warming up must be done in the designated “Collecting Rings” provided and numbers will be strictly limited. Competitors found abusing the showground may be asked to leave the Show Ground. 17. DRESS – Hard hats, which comply with current British Showjumping safety requirements, must be worn at all times when mounted. Competitors must be correctly dressed when walking the course. 18. PRIZE GIVING – The Organisers reserve the right to withhold prizes if Competitors do not attend the Official Prize Giving. The top three competitors winning prizes in each class will be expected to attend the Official Mounted Prize Giving. British Showjumping Rule 202.1a will apply. 19. PRIZE MONEY – Competitors that win prize money will be contacted after the conclusion of the Championships by the Show Secretary and prize money to be sent via a BACS transfer. 20. SPECIAL PRIZES – All special prizes must be collected from the Show Secretary prior to departure from the Show Ground. Pony competitors must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will not be forwarded after the event. 21. ALL VEHICLES –The Organiser reserves the right to remove any vehicle which is obstructing any access (even if locked and unattended) and the Organiser will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage occasioned by such removal. 22. COMPETITOR VEHICLE PASSES – Competitor horseboxes and horse trailers with horses / ponies competing at the Show will not be sent nor will require passes to enter the Show Ground and will be directed to the relevant parking area upon arrival at the equine entrance to the Show. 23. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS – All vehicles must be equipped with an appropriate fire extinguisher conforming to Local Authority Regulations. 24. COMPETITOR ADMISSION PASSES – Competitors do not require admission passes to access the Show Ground. 31
