Owned by Andrea & Jeremy Brererton FWH as he’s known to his friends, really has stepped up to the mark this year showing all the at- tributes of a top class horse. He consolidated on his Intermediate and ** form in the spring with a 13th place at Houghton Hall CCI** having really developed not only in physical strength but in his expression of movement, elasticity and range. His jumping has always been his favourite phase and he is such a natural XC horse, a blood type with the one and only desire to jump between the flags making your a job as a rider such an enjoyable one. Due to Jodie’s injury, Izzy Taylor picked up the reigns beautifully piloting Fin to a 4th place in the CIC** at Somerford, a win in his first advanced run at Wellington as well as 7th place in the highly competitive 8&9yo CIC*** at Blenheim. What a way to make his advanced debut and so lovely for his owners Andrea & Jeremy who have always thought the world of this little horse and believed in him from the start. Needless to say, Jodie shares their views and simply loves this little horse, his enthusiasm, his work ethic and more than anything his desire to do the job. Finn’s recent results have confirmed just how exciting a horse he is going to be at top level, a real superstar in the making! Owned by Sara Brown & Jodie Amos La Chunga is another Spanish recruit sourced by Jodie in Madrid as a 3yo and homebred by Jose Manuel Perez Arroyo, a half sister to Borghese. This young mare is a real favourite of Jodie’s with such an intelligent brain and a wisdom and maturity that far exceed her young age. In terms of quality, she has a faultless jumping technique, so athletic and careful over the show jumps and yet so bold and brave across country. Having stepped up to novice level effortless- ly, Jodie really believes this mare is something special and is thrilled that Sara & Dominic Brown have come on board as joint owners. Sara and Dom were previously in a syndicate with Jodie part owning John & Stefanie Lawrence's Rocketman GD. Both sharing the same passion for horses and enthusiasm for the sport, Jodie looks forward to this new adventure together. 3
Owned by Barbara Cooper Dreamer is a very striking young horse, purchased from Vicky Tuffs earlier on this year and by the prolific show jumper Verdi. A real softy, Dreamer has three very eye catching paces, tones of scope and a super temperament. Good results this summer for this new combination included a win at Aston-le-Walls and a 5th place at Smiths Lawn both in the novice. Dreamer will now join Barbara’s other young rising star Braveheart with their rider Tom McEwen. Both Fig & Dreamer are currently at home enjoying a well deserved holiday at grass, being utterly spoilt, and we wish Tom all the best for the forthcoming eventing season with Dreamer. Owned by Jodie Amos eventing This is a lovely young horse bred by Neill McCluskey, by his stallion Cappuchino out of mare by Limmerick and sourced by Jodie and Andrea in Northern Ireland last autumn. He is a beautiful mover, uphill and light off his feet with the most fantastic canter and eye catching trot. Careful and athletic show jumping as well as being very brave across country, Paddy has a real class about him and unquestionable natural ability. In his first season eventing, Paddy qualified for both Osberton & BYEH 5yo Championships, having won and been highly placed at BE100, he also jumped an ef- fortless double clear around his first Novice. This talented young horse has it all and will definitely be one to watch for the future - he is on the market but Jodie is hoping for a fairy godmother to secure Paddy’s future with her! 4
Owned by Annabelle Galt Peter is no stranger to the eventing scene, owned by team physio Annabelle Galt and successfully campaigned to CCI** level by Matt Heath with 51 BE points. Annabelle rescued Peter from a very poor attempt at being a race horse, showing little enthusi- asm for moving faster than a slow walk until the winter months arrive when he literally turns into the devil reincarnat- ed, by far the sharpest horse on the yard with aerodynamic moves that the others could only dream of! Annabelle being so busy studying for her Masters degree, gave Hippo the ride on Peter during the spring and they have since completed three Intermediates with a 10th place at Wellington and a 7th place at South of England CIC*. The aim for next season will be to step up to ** level and possibly become a second string in Hippo’s Young Rider cam- paign, in his pursuit of a team spot at the European Championships. Papa G, Annabelle’s father, a true Scot, is still getting his head around lifting a French flag let alone supporting the frogs… watch this space! Owned by Nicky Coates, Lisa Kent, Jodie Amos This mare is certainly bred to be the bees knees! Her mother Fachoudette SF was one of the best mares of her time with the most incredible three day eventing record including: Gold Medal at the Young Rider European Championships in Warendorf Germany 2002, Winner of Bramham CCI*** 2006, 21st Burghley CCI**** 2006, Winner of Burnham Market CIC*** 2007, 3rd at Luhmuhlen CCI**** Germany 2007, Silver Medal at the Senior European Champi- onships in Pratoni 2007 and 10th at Badminton CCI**** 2008. Her father, Carrick Diamond Lad, has some of the best of Irish Breeding going back to King of Dia- monds with on the mother’s side, a fantastic thorough- bred line linked to Sky Boy. A typical mare with a very strong and opinionated per- sonality, her undeniable qualities are finally starting 5
to shine through thanks to the patience of her owners and Hippo’s sympathetic riding. A lovely compact type, Duette is loose and athletic with a copybook jumping technique and if she is anything like her parents, she is sure to be a top class horse. Despite only eventing the second half of the season due to a splint earlier on in the year, results this autumn include a win at Somer- ford in the Novice, a 3rd place at Gatcombe and an incredible 7th place in her first Intermediate at South of England. It was a fantastic end to the season for Hippo and the lovely Diamond Duette jumping yet another double clear at Aldon in the CIC* now fully qualified for a CIC** next spring. It can't be stressed enough that these results are a credit to Hippo, Lisa & Nicky and all involved are very excited for what the future holds. *** There is still a remaining share for sale in Diamond Duette - Please feel free to get in touch for more information & join in on the excitement for a fraction of the cost *** Stable Jockey Hippo’s on Fire!!! Hippo has certainly gone from strength to strength this season, an essential part of the team at Jodie Amos Eventing, very hard working and conscientious, he is both passionate about the horses and the sport. During his time in the UK Hippo has gone from Novice to Ad- vanced level with his own Vasco D'Isle and showed his quiet and sensitive approach producing the more quirkier types. Hippo is a versatile jockey with a lot of feel, from backing the unbroken to schooling and competing the liv- ery and sales horses, his com- petition results this season have been by far his best campaigning three horses at Interme- diate level. Hippo will be returning to Jodie in 2018 for his third consecu- tive year as stable jockey, a talented rider and a plea- sure to work alongside. 6
Head girl Becca is no stranger to the eventing scene, with a wealth of competition experience having pre- viously worked as head girl for Jodie’s very good friend Emma Forsyth and Ruth Edge. Becca's expertise, work ethic and attention to detail are second to none. A passionate and committed horse lover, their care and well being are her primary concern. With immaculate turn out and a meticulous organisation of the yard, sharing a similar level of OCD, Jodie has complete peace of mind that everything is taken care of to the highest of standards. Becca is currently enjoying a change of scenery in Ireland helping train up eventing grooms but will be back before Christ- mas in preparation for the forthcoming season. Owner / rider of Hiarado & Direct Ballytarsna du Carel For those of you who haven't yet met Katie or her mother Penny, Katie is now based with Jodie full time whilst finishing her studies at school. Jodie first met the Cabournes back at the start of the 2014 event season when she sold them Kathy Oliver’s Fatima Blush with whom Katie went on to have great success at JRN level. Last year they bought the next step up, the lovely Direct Ballytarsna du Carel who Jodie produced and competed up to Intermediate level for Jocelyn Riley, the perfect horse for Katie to aim for Young riders with. Unfortunately he sustained a minor injury and whilst currently off games, Katie is having a fantastic time with her very special up and coming Hiarado whom will be aimed at a CIC* later on next year. Katie is a very talented young rider and a lovely addition to the A Team who will plan to move further up the grades with some super horses under Jodie's watchful eye and guidance. 7
Working Pupil On the note of French returns, our lovely Manon will also be returning after a four month accountancy course in France for a third British summer. Manon came over to improve her english whilst doing a Master's degree in Marketing by corre- spondence. Delightful & entertaining to have around the yard, hard working and enthusiastic, Manon is known for her infec- tious laugh. Currently enjoying a week’s holiday with Hippo in Cyprus visiting Aylin Schmidt, they are both looking forward to getting home to their French cuisine and warmer climate before the winter truly sets in! Equine Solariums The wash box has made a massive difference for treating and generally caring for the horses to the extent that it’s hard to remember what it was like without it! But to top it off the solarium provided by Equine Sunswitch has become a fundamental part of the horses day to day regime. Safer and more user friendly than the traditional canopy-style solariums, they deliver shortwave infrared in a versatile way through their wrap around structure, affordable with low running costs. The stable heaters and lorry heaters are also fantastic pieces of equipment, practical, innovative and very horse friendly. Jodie couldn't recommend the team at Equine Sunswitch more highly, a family owned business that are passionate about their products, incredibly knowledgable and al- ways available to discuss your requirements, tailored to budget. http://www.equinesunswitch.co.uk 8

Saddles Jodie has ridden in Devoucoux saddles for as long as she can remember and couldn't speak more highly of them and certainly couldn't dream of riding in anything else. Their products combine a highly technical and eye-catching design, the result of a team turned towards the future with development and innovation in mind. Jean Michel’s latest brainchild, the “Makila Harmonie" is a revolutionary concept, dedicated to the harmony between horse and rider. The Dynamic saddle tree is lighter and more flexible; the riders weight is spread more evenly allowing more rider stability and greater muscular freedom for the horse. Consequently the horse has superior freedom of movement, elasticity and suspension in his paces whilst stabilising the rider in a more correct position… a truly exceptional design! Equine Nutrition Jodie feeds all her yard on Spillers and loves the fact that within the simplicity of her feeding programme lies a very highly researched quality product ensuring the horses receive all the nutritional value required to work and compete at their best. * Check out their latest new exciting product SPILLERS SPEEDY-MASH FIBRE * A new super-fast soaking sugar beet fibre blend for all horses and ponies that soaks in less than 60 seconds with an irresistible apple aroma. Another great few days were had at the Monart Sale, run by Polly Jackson & Nial Griffin, in Enniscorthy Ireland. A fantastic selection of truly quality Irish bred young horses were showcased in the idilic setting of the Monart Spa, always a fun end of season get together & a couple of days of self indul- gence. It was difficult to leave empty handed and both Jodie & Andrea have acquired two more additions to the crew, two super three years olds with the much needed 3/4 Thoroughbred lines, confirmation, movement & jump who will now be turned away for the year to mature. The never ending quest for one’s next event- ing superstar is certainly an addic- tive one! Both Jonathan & Sarah managed to be more sensible and leave the bidding wars earlier on... until next year !!! 12
