The Stuarts Point Friendly Grocer Charity
Bowls Day was held on Monday 28th October
and it turned out to be one of the best ever
with over $8000 raised for local charities.
A good crowd of mainly industry reps, Parkie’s and a handful of locals (Thanks to those
Stuarts Point Residents who did support the Day) enjoyed a game of Casual Bowls, NTP
golf and a dramatic Crab Race finale. Thank you to Brett and Monique Groundwater
from SP Supermarket (Major Sponsors), ILG Liquor, Dazza’s Seafood’s and the team
from Friendly Grocer Head Office for their sponsorship as well. Cheers to all the helpers
on the day, without whom the day wouldn’t eventuate. Special Mention to Doogs Cook
for organising the Crabs along with the fully detailed form guide along with the QLD
based “Ballerina” who was a major contributor as well- I hope the Crab Linguini was
  worth it.
With Christmas almost here the Club will be again open for lunch on Christmas Day
with Lanie and her team preparing a scrumptious buffet selection.
This event is growing in popularity with over 200 people attending last year so make
sure you book early. Menu will be on our FB soon.
Coming up on November 29th “The Roys” will be performing at the Club. These
evergreen rockers have a large following and it’s sure to be a fun night.

leaves Cass Dunn still in front with 3 victories, with Mop, Stones, Freddy and Bogie J all

  JOKE OF THE MONTH
Freddy was shocked to see his beautiful single neighbor knocking on his
door one Friday evening. “I’m so lonely I can’t stand it” she said. “I want
to go out, get drunk and find some male companionship if you know what I
mean”. “Are you free tonight” “You bet I am” he replied. “Awesome” she
said “could you watch my kids for me?” CHEERS GARY

health services, sustainable agriculture, economic development and tourism are the keystones of the forthcoming plans
for the region. The Mayor introduced two senior council members, who address the sewerage and foreshores develop-
ments, and yes Stuarts Point will have sewerage by 2023 and the foreshores upgrade was happening out the window

Another month has been and gone with not a lot of news. The info day at Kempsey went off well with
plenty of info available. Our next meeting is the 4th of November in the board room at the Stuarts Point

             STUARTS POINT PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS
Term 4 is moving along quickly with our ten day Swimming School completed at the end of October.
Students travelled on the bus each day to Macksville Aquatic Centre to take part in their lessons, sup-
ported by lots of terrific volunteers from among our families. The scheme is supported by local business-
es and community groups to reduce the cost for our families. The Tolson and Heather families, as well
as the SWR Lions club have all contributed large amounts again this year.
This term one of our major programs taking place is our Kinder Orientation for pre-schoolers. The pro-
gram began earlier in the year with fortnightly visits from Stuarts Point Pre-schoolers every second
Thursday morning and buddy visits from some of our Year 4 and 5 students to Pre-school. This term all
prospective Kindergarten children for 2020 have been invited to take part in school visits on Monday
 mornings.
The Monday visits will include the children as part of the K/1 class and then they will stay for recess to
be part of the whole school setting. Parents and carers will be invited to attend information sessions on
some of these Mondays during the term. Any children who are likely to attend Kindergarten next year
are invited and encouraged to attend this transition program. For further information, the school office
 can be contacted on 65690627.
During Term 4 our morning Physical Education program involves dance as exercise. It is a great favour-
ite with students who will learn and develop both individual and group routines to new and classic
 songs.
Our four Year 6 students have begun taking part in further transitioning to their respective high schools,
where they will get to attend whole-day visits, travelling on the bus into high school and experiencing
many of the subjects on offer there.
A group of ten marimba students will travel down to Sydney to play as part of the School Spectacular on
the 20th of November for five days. Many of our marimba-playing students have been performing at lo-
cal markets and events in the hope of raising funds to help with the cost of the trip. They have also re-
ceived a very generous donation from the local CWA association to help with the trip.

                    The STUARTS POINT PLAYERS
return to the stage this November with two one-act comedies, which are sure to get you laughing.
The first half of the Players‟ production has just three characters on stage, for the comedy „GLASS‟. A
fatigued matinee idol on the verge of a nervous breakdown comes home one day from his long-running Broadway hit
and discovers an audience watching him through the plate glass window of his high-rise apartment. An excellent Twilight
 Zone-style play.
The second half features six actors in „ASYLUM‟. This play is set in a mental institution group therapy session. The four
patients have adopted the personae of a fairy tale character to cope with the disturbing reality of how and why they were
committed. All will be revealed. Or will it?
The plays will open at the South West Rocks School of Arts (Roxy Cinema) on Friday, November 15, and then move to
Stuarts Point on Saturday, November 16. On Sunday, November 17, there will be a matinee performance at the
 Oddfellows Hall in West Kempsey.
BYO everything to Stuarts Point and Kempsey, with table seating.
Roxy Cinema is fully licenced and has theatre seating.
*Both plays are rated MA and contain sexual references and occasional strong language.
Tickets at Stuarts Point Pharmacy or online at mvarts.org.au

CWA members held their successful AGM on Thurs 24/10/19 and a new committee is on board,
President: Margaret Breust, Secretary: Barbara Veness, Treasurer: Jenny Clementson, Vice President:
Pam Rogers. We have had a very busy year with catering for various functions as well as having a regu-
lar stall at Unkya Markets, all these events help us raise funds to help us support our local schools, hos-
pitals and other community needs. These past years the drought has had a dramatic effect on our Rural
and Regional areas and the Eungai/Stuarts Point CWA have been able to help support with donations
from our local area. We gratefully thank our local community for always supporting us with our fundrais-
ing. I would like to mention the CWA policy is that all monies that are donated to CWA are taken and giv-
en out without any administration costs.
If you would be interested in finding out more information on what the CWA is all about, please go to
their website cwaofnsw.org.au
