Northwest Park Camp Foxfire 2019 Pre K-Kindergarten 9:00am-12:00pm $145 Windsor residents $155 non-resident Camp Foxfire offers week-long nature programs for young campers that focus on science, agriculture and environmental education within our 473 acre campus at Northwest Park. We invite you to register for one, two or all three of our unique weekly themed sessions. To accommodate as many children as possible, campers are not permitted to repeat the same theme a second time. Children may only attend a maximum of three weeks at Camp Foxfire. Northwest Park’s staff are highly qualified individuals who enjoy working with children. All staff members are certified in First Aid and CPR. Pre K- Kindergarten grade camps have 2 adult leaders with no more than 12 participants. Camper groups are based on the grade your child will enter in the fall. Pre K and Kindergarten campers must be at least 4 years old by June 1, 2019 and potty trained. Spectacular Senses: Come out and explore our forests and fields while using your five senses. Feel the soft moss on the rock, discover which animal is singing in the field, and make your own garden of smells. o Session 1: Monday, July 1-Friday, July 5 (no camp Thursday, July 4) Pro-rated: $115 Windsor resident $125 non-resident or o Session 2: Monday, July 22- Friday, July 26 Farm Frenzy: Northwest Park has a farm, E-I-E-I-O… Meet and greet our heritage breed livestock, help with behind the scenes barn chores, visit our organic garden and experience what life is like on a farm. o Session 1: Monday, July 8- Friday, July 12 or o Session 2: Monday, July 29- Friday, August 2 Dinosaur Discovery: Explore Northwest Park’s prehistoric residents! Dig in the sand for dinosaur bones, explore what foods they ate to survive, and compare your own foot to our real dinosaur track! o Session 1: Monday, July 15-Friday, July 19 or o Session 2: Monday, August 5-Friday, August 9 For more information on Northwest Park’s Summer Camps, call Northwest Park at 860-285-1886, or register online at townofwindsorct.com/recreation. Scholarship Applications for summer 2019 are available now to Windsor residents who meet the State of Connecticut Income Verification Guidelines. Residents are eligible for up to a 50% scholarship for summer programs only. Refund Policy- If you cancel registration more than 30 days in advance of the session start date, you will receive a full refund, less a $25 processing fee. Cancellation 14-30 days before the session start date will receive a 50% refund. Cancellation less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp session will receive no refund.

Experience the excitement of discovery as you go digging for dinosaur bones, hike to our own dinosaur footprint on the Triassic Trail and enjoy a special field trip to Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill on Friday. o Session 1: Monday, July 8- Friday, July 12 or o Session 2: Monday, July 29- Friday, August 2 Junior Farmers: Dig in the dirt and experience what life is like on our working farm. During this exciting week of hands-on activities campers learn about daily farm life. All lessons are designed to stimulate scientific thinking and collaborative problem solving. We invite you to register for one, two or all three of our unique weekly themed sessions. To accommodate as many children as possible, campers are not permitted to repeat the same theme a second time. Children may only attend a maximum of three weeks at Camp Foxfire. Age appropriate activities will develop confidence and resilience through progressively challenging experiences. We invite you to register for one, two or all three of our unique weekly themed sessions. Build shelters out of natural materials, build a fire without a match using primitive technology, and prepare your own meal learning outdoor cooking. All lessons are designed to stimulate scientific thinking and collaborative problem solving. Age appropriate activities will develop confidence and resilience through progressively challenging experiences that include day trips to other unique natural environments and overnight camping for the older levels. We invite you to register for one, two or all three of our unique weekly themed sessions. To accommodate as many children as possible, campers are not permitted to repeat the same theme a second time. Children may only attend a maximum of three weeks at Camp Foxfire. Northwest Park’s staff are highly qualified individuals who enjoy working with children. All staff members are certified in First Aid and CPR. State Park Spectacular: This week we will be traveling and exploring several Connecticut State Parks. Enjoy hiking at Chatfield Hollow, splash around in Long Island Sound at Hammonasset Beach, and enjoy the view from the observation tower at Shenipsit State Forest. o Session 1: Monday, July 1-Friday, July 5 (no camp Thursday, July 4) Pro-rated: $215 Windsor resident’s $225 non-residents or o Session 2: July 22- 26 $270 Windsor resident $280 non-resident Trek to Mt. Monadnock: Join in on an adventurous hike up Mount Monadnock in New Hampshire. Campers will learn how to properly prepare for extended hikes, practice Leave–No-Trace hiking, and enjoy the view from the summit of 3,165 feet, a rewarding and exciting experience. We will be camping within the State Park in Jaffrey, New Hampshire Wednesday through Friday. o Session 1: Monday, July 8-Monday, July 12 $290 Windsor resident $300 non-resident or o Session 2: Monday, July 29- Friday, August 2 $290 Windsor resident $300 non-resident Outdoor Challenge: Engage in a week filled with team and individual challenge.
