North Point Church Building Use Policy The primary use of the grounds, buildings, and equipment of North Point Church shall be to promote the mission of Jesus Christ. Uses that are educational, social service, and/or character building in nature may also be permitted on a case-by-case basis, as directed by the Session. The following principals and guidelines are published in an effort to clarify the expectations of the congregation and the responsibilities of any groups or organizations that would like to use these facilities on a temporary or regular basis. Use of Facilities Priorities: 1. North Point Church Sponsored Activities & Ministries and Non-profit Sponsored Activities Requested by North Point Members - This category includes all programs planned and sponsored by North Point and nonprofit sponsored activities requested by North Point members and also certain activities at the discretion of the Session. 2. Christian Ministries and other churches. 3. North Point not including events described in item 1. above (recitals, concerts, shows, classes, etc). 4. Non-profit Groups and Organizations of the Greater Community- This category includes individuals or organizations not directly connected to North Point or other Christian organizations. Groups or organizations in this category MUST be non-profit, educational or charitable in their focus. This includes groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or other civic or educational organizations. A non-profit tax number must be on file with the church office and a written verification of a least $500,000.00 in liability insurance naming the church as additional insured, must also be on file with the church office. 5. Certain for-profit Organizations – This category includes for-profit organizations that have a connection to North Point or a North Point member. Their use of the facility must be limited to events (recitals, concerts, shows, classes, etc) where the for-profit organization is not fundraising or profiting from the event on the North Point campus. Examples of this category would be that a private music teacher may teach lessons outside of North Point and charge fees for the lessons, but then may use the North Point building for a year-end recital where fees are not charged. 6. Weddings or Memorial Services, please call the North Point office for more information. June 2012
