INTRO
Malthouse Comedy Festival is back!
Since 2016, Malthouse has been a buzzing south side hub
during Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where you can
eat—drink—repeat. Located within the contemporary arts precinct in
Southbank, Malthouse is a home away from home for innovative and
surprising live experiences.
We’re planning an exciting return in 2022 and COVID-Safety will
play a central role in the festival. The safety, welfare, and experience of
everyone who enters our venue is our highest priority and it is our duty to
protect our community—you, your family, friends, and neighbours.
The Malthouse is a COVID-Safe venue. We cut no corners. We
have introduced strict safety and hygiene measures in line with Victoria’s
Department of Health and Human Services guidelines to prevent the
transmission of COVID-19. Our procedures are always up to date and
compliant with legislation and government advice. Artists working in the
venue will be provided with specific details, and information for visitors
can be found on our website.

operations ,and taking part in Malthouse Comedy Festival. If you have any

EOIs to be part of Malthouse Comedy Festival are now open. Fill out
the form here before 5pm on 1 November 2021.
Malthouse is committed to making the application process and
festival experience accessible and inclusive for artists of all backgrounds.
We invite submissions from all people and strongly encourage those who
identify as Indigenous, Bla(c)k People of Colour (IBPOC), CaLD, neuro-
diverse, LGBTQIA+, gender diverse to apply.
HOW TO APPLY:

A note about capacity
Due to restrictions, venue capacities are subject to change.
The information on the following pages is based on 100% capacity.
It’s hard to predict the future (we’ve given it our best shot), so when we
send offers out we’ll provide the best information we have as of the date
we send the offer. We’ll also advise of potential shifts that might impact
capacity, as soon we are aware of this information. Fingers crossed
things will be predictable, but as we’ve learnt, these days you have
to be as agile as an Olympic gymnast.
