THE BELL Feb. 12, 2021 ‘our salvation story’ Choose Hope “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd.” Mark 8:2 NEW REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR 2021-2022 We will be moving to a more streamlined approach for registration for the 2021-2022 school year! ONLINE RE-ENROLLMENT: A link to a Google form will be emailed out on Tuesday, Feb. 16th to all current families that are eligible for re-enrollment. If your account is currently in arrears you will need to contact Sharon Greany, in business office, to make arrangements for payment before re-enrolling. The Google link will contain all the elements that were previously on Sycamore, and on the paper documents. You will simply click on the Google link and fill in all the informa- tion. You will NOT have to log on to Sycamore admissions or print out any documents for re-enrollment. There will be separate links sent out for K-8 and PK/TK. TUITION ASSISTANCE: The tuition assistance program will remain as it was last year. All families who request tuition assistance must first complete an online FACTS application by April 16th or by the time of your meeting with me. Again, the Nazareth Guild will use the results of this application to determine the level of financial support they will provide St. Mary. Fam- ilies who currently receive tuition assistance need to apply for the 2021-2022 school year. Current families can access their prior Facts application and only need to take a few minutes to update it for next year. The FACTS application may be found here: https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/4L2TZ REG. MEETINGS WITH MR. WALKER: Mr. Walker would like to hold brief (15-20 minutes) registration meetings via phone or zoom with all families throughout the months of February, March, and April. This is an opportunity to formally meet if we haven’t already, chat about your family experience, discuss the budget, and facilitate your tuition agreement (should you seek assistance) for the 2021-2022 school year. This is a mandatory meeting for all families--whether you seek tuition assistance or not. A Google sheet will be sent out next week to start scheduling your registration meeting with Mr. Walker. If the Google sheet doesn’t work for you please feel free to contact the office to schedule an appointment. The Google registration form and FACTS application (if req. tuition assistance) must be completed by the time of your appointment.
REGISTRATION FEES: We are happy to announce that registration fees for K-8 will remain the same amount as last year. 1 student: $295 2 students: $530 3 students: $765 4 students: $1,000 A minimum of $295 is due at the time of re-enrollment to hold spots for families that are enrolling multiple K-8 students. For families with one K-8 student, $295 is due at the time of registration. The balance of the registration fees are due in full by August 1, 2021. Families are welcome to make payments on your fees throughout the summer. Please contact Sharon Greany at: (509) 924-4300 x204 or sgreany@stmarysspokane.org to disucss options. We will open up enrollment to new families beginning March 22. We ask that everyone intending to re-enroll for the 2021-2022 school year completes the Google form for re-enrollment by March 16th so we can accurately project how many open spots we can offer to new families by the time open enrollment begins. Thank you for your patience during the change in this process, it is my hope that the changes we’ve made this year will result in the re-enrollment process being much easier for families. Please feel free to contact the office with any questions. Blessings, Chelsea Weiler Office Manager St. Mary Catholic School cweiler@stmarysspokane.org (509)924-4300 x200 Look for the link in your email on 2/16/21

Educare Reminders: Educare Pick-Up Ph. Number: (509) 924-4300 x211 Save the Educare pick-up phone number in your phone. We had to change the Educare pick-up process this school year. If you are arriving after 11:15AM to pick-up pre-k stu- dents from Educare you will need to call the Educare pick-up phone number. If you are arriving after 3:05PM to pick-up K-5 (& 6-8th when they come back in-person) students from Educare you will need to call the Educare pick-up phone number. Signs are posted on several doors around the school with the phone number just in case. Please let the office know if the need for your child to go to Educare arises during the day so we can staff appropriately. We have to keep classroom cohorts separated in Educare, and even the addition of just 1 or 2 extra students at the last minute that weren’t expect- ed creates very difficult situations for Educare. Also, please let the office know if your child’s regular Educare schedule changes so we can staff accordingly. Winter Weather Reminders: We go outside for recess every day unless it is raining/snowing heavily or below 20 degrees (factoring in windchill) or blacktop is too slippery from ice. Make sure to send your student to school with a bag (separate from backpack) containing the proper outerwear and boots for outdoor recess in the snow. Regular shoes must be worn indoor. PK-4th: waterproof snow pants and boots are required to leave the blacktop at recess. 5th-8th: waterproof snow boots are required to leave the blacktop, snow pants highly recommended. School track jackets and sweatshirts are no longer warm enough to wear outdoors alone. Make sure to send your child with their (dry) winter jacket, and other winter gear if needed. We are pleased to announce that in the event of school being cancelled due to weather, we will be able to conduct classes remotely (K-8) to help avoid having to extend our school year into the summer. Tech Support Team If you are experiencing technical difficulties with virtual learning Ms. Kristen and Mr. Hull are designated to help with your remote learning teach support needs. Please contact them with any tech issues you are having: Kristen Nauditt: (509) 924-4300 x227, knauditt@stmarysspokane.org Brian Hull: (509) 924-4300 x225, bhull@stmarysspokane.org

It’s very important to the community as a whole to report health screenings each school day for in-person students. If a student goes home from school ill or is called in ill from home, the “at-risk” red screen procedures must automatically and immediately be followed before student will be allowed back in school. If there is an accidental red screen (one “yes” was was accidentally clicked) please contact the office or just let the check-in volunteers know it was a mistake. Please refer to the most current COVID-19 Symptom Flow Chart below for help deter- mining if student can attend school and/or what course of action needs to be taken.
