Assessment Criteria 1. Artistic Merit Programmes should • Display artistic excellence • Effectively engage students and help them develop a deeper understanding of the art form • Develop students’ critical appreciation of the art form and ability to make sense of what they have seen 2. Capability Development for Arts Instructors
Raising the quality of arts instruction • In 2012, NAC announced that all arts instructors wishing to conduct NAC-AEP Experience workshop programmes from 2017 onwards will need to have the minimum pedagogical certification. • To encourage arts instructors to receive pedagogical training, subsidy was provided for existing NAC-AEP instructors since 2012: 2012 – 2016 90% subsidy from NAC 2017 50% subsidy from NAC • To date, approximately 900 instructors have received training. 29

Account Registration (for 1st time users) • You will need a registered user account on the NAC Arts Education portal if you wish to submit programme applications. • Please note that you will also need to register for a new user account if: – You are a new representative of an existing arts organisation – You are an existing user, but your organisation has a change in its Unique Entity Number (UEN) Individual Artist Collective UEN-Registered Arts (submitting programmes Representative Organisation on your own personal (collective is not UEN- Representative capacity) registered) ID required during registration 35

Step 2: Submitting CVs • You will need to submit the CVs of individuals conducting the programmes into the online portal. • Soft copy of CV template is available on NAC Arts Education website – Groups with large number of instructors can use this template to facilitate gathering of information for the administrator to submit 41
Step 2: Submitting CVs If the instructor has taught the same programme in different schools, you may wish to condense the information when filling up the CV form. 42
Step 2: Submitting CVs As a security measure, the system will log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity (i.e. not clicking to the next page). Save regularly! • Click “Save” to save CV as draft, without submitting it. This instructor will not be reflected in the NAC-AEP application form later. • Click “Submit” to submit the CV. You can still edit the CV after submission. 43

Step 3: Submitting Applications Due to system security, please avoid using special characters in your application and document file names to minimise errors encountered. Lesson plans are only visible to NAC-AEP Assessors, and will not be published publicly. 47

Application Outcome & Letter of Eligibility • You will be notified via email on the outcome of your applications. • Every approved NAC-AEP programme comes with a Letter of Eligibility (LOE). – Download the LOE from the portal – Check who the approved instructor(s) for the programme are – Present the LOE to schools that purchase the programmes as proof of NAC- AEP eligibility 50
Post-Approval: Programme Customisation • From 2017, schools are not required to submit a Customisation request to NAC for the following customisations made to existing approved NAC-AEP programmes based on schools’ needs: – E.g. Programme duration, number of workshop sessions, programme cost – However, customisation of programme content and change of instructors not approved for the NAC-AEP programme are not allowed. 51
Post-Approval: Change Request • If you wish to make any of the following changes to the published information of an existing approved programme, you may submit a Change Request. – Programme Information – Addition of instructor/ facilitator (previously not approved) 52
Post-Approval: Invoicing the School • You should invoice the schools 100% of programme cost, even if they are tapping on the Tote Board Arts Grant subsidy • Schools will claim for the Tote Board Arts Grant subsidy separately through their IFAAS system. • Please include the Programme ID and Programme Title in your invoice to the school. – As per listed in the NAC-AEP Programme Directory 53
Other Important Notes MOE Instructor Registration Scheme • MOE requires all instructors who conduct enrichment activities that are > 8 hours to register with MOE • Registered status will be valid for 2 years, recommended to re-apply at least 3 months prior to status expiry • 6 – 8 weeks processing time • https://www.moe.gov.sg/coaches-instructors 54
