Education and Training Overview Study the International Program in Education and Training and earn your QTLS (Quality Teacher Learner Status). The programme is delivered by Skyline College and will take 4 years to complete. Each year you will earn 120 credits and on completion you will have earned 480 credits. Requirements For entry onto the Diploma in Education and Training qualification, learners must: Hold a relevant vocational and/or academic qualification of at least the level above that of their learners and ideally a minimum Level 3 qualification in his/her own area of specialism. South African Matric Certificate Questions Will I be able to use this qualification in South Africa? Yes, you can use it in South Africa. Skyline College has partnered with accredited OFQUAL International awarding organisations that SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) will accept. All international qualifications will be recognised by SAQA. You can also use these certifications in DUBAI, CHINA etc. where the demand is high. Equivalences Qualifications at RQF Level 4 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Year 1 of a three-year UK Bachelor's degree programme. The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification is equivalent to the Certificate of Education (CertEd). It is also a good alternative to the Postgraduate Certificate in Education. This Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training will enable you to apply for QTLS status and be a recognised qualified teacher. Teachers with QTLS can also teach in schools. Qualifications at RQF Level 6 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours, Bachelor’s Degrees, Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates. The Level 7 diplomas on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) are at the same level as master’s degrees. However, they are shorter (120 credits) and learners will have to proceed to the dissertation stage (60 credits) with university to achieve a full master’s programme. Certification On completion students will receive a certificate regulated by OFQUAL. Only OFQUAL regulated certificates are accepted by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Skyline College does not issue any certificates. All international certificates are issued by VTCT, Athe and OTHM.

Vtct Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Who is this qualification for? The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques is a substantial vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed beautician/beauty specialist. This qualification is based on the beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional bodies (The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a junior beautician/beauty specialist. Why is this qualification most suitable? This is one of two VTCT qualifications in beauty therapy at Level 2. Whilst both qualifications qualify learners to become a junior beautician/beauty specialist, this qualification allows learners to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients. In contrast, the VTCT Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General requires learners to work in a commercial salon whereby assessments must be carried out on real paying clients in line with commercial service times. Information Technology Level 4 to Level 6 The Programme in Information Technology is designed to ensure that each learner is a confident, independent thinker with a detailed knowledge of Information Technology, and equipped with the skills to adapt rapidly to change at a junior or middle management level and aspiring into higher management within their organisation or industry. Access to Higher Education (Matric Equivalent) Overview The objective of the Level 3 Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies is to provide learners with a foundation to provide an entry route to UK and international university courses. It is designed to ensure that each learner is equipped with knowledge of study skills, mathematics, computing, society and culture, business and accounting, providing the knowledge and skills to adapt rapidly to change and progress with their learning. Entry requirements OTHM Level 3 qualifications can be offered to learners from age 16. OTHM does not specify entry requirements for these qualifications. OTHM ensures that learners admitted to the programme have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria. English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency. Equivalences OTHM qualifications at RQF Level 3 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to GCE AS/A Levels. Early Childhood Development NQF Level 4 Importance Notice This qualification is offered at Skyline College premises on behalf of Imvana Training College. Skyline College has purchased Imvana College last year. Overview Early Childhood Development (ECD) is a priority area within the South African context and is supported by legislation, national policies and strategies. The development of babies, toddlers and young children forms the most critical foundation of further development into childhood and adulthood. There is thus a vast need for ECD services, and it is critical that the field should be served by competent practitioners. In order to meet the needs at ECD level, it is important to be able to identify and recognise competent ECD practitioners who are able to work in a variety of ECD contexts. This qualification will provide a means to give recognition to practitioners at an entry level, thus making it possible for practitioners to increase their employment prospects, and at the same time provide the field with suitably qualified practitioners.
